I'm probably that friend who's the elf, given my height

I would know that the world isn't so ordinary and I would be so happy to find that out, I would die.

I'd bombard them with questions about what it's like being an elf.

Like a Christmas elf or a normal elf?

Either

Well I'll do one of each

Christmas Elf:
I'd shake them down and say "Tell that cheap bastard to give me all the presents he owes me!"

Normal elf: Rape it :P

JK I'd probably just ask them to show me some magic or something.

Dissect him or her, then drink their blood and set up their body as a statue in the basement of my house, and whenever I get bored, I'd go down there and stare gleefully at my bloody handiwork,

Find out how old they are. Were they one of the Noldor who were exiled from Valinor? Did they see the Two Trees, Laurelin and Telperion? Are they one of the grey elves who did not follow the Valar all the way, or a descendant thereof? Do they remember anything from before or shortly after the War of the Ring?

Even if they are a relatively young elf of a few hundred years, I would have a lot of questions related to history. On the other hand, if they're not much older than me, I would probably treat them the same as everyone else. Any elf born in Arda at so late a date is unlikely to have any interesting magic, or know very much about the past. They would have improved senses, and certain other advantages over humans, but none that are especially interesting (well, other than their immortality, I suppose).
