I prefer my food to not touch but it's no big deal other than a slight annoyance if I do, and I usually eat the touching foods first to separate them.

I don't care. I'll still eat my food either way.

I don't care much
I did know this guy who would mix his food into some concoction and I felt sick just looking in his general direction

Only peas and mushrooms must be apart, my heaven and hell. I'll mix everything else.

I was going to say I didn't really care if my food touched, and then I realized I had exceptions...

For example. I don't mind if my mash potatoes touch the meatloaf and the green peas, or corn, or diced carrots. But why on Earth is there lettuce next to my refried beans and chicken enchelada! Lettuce needs to be on a small dish by itself, unless it's inside a sandwich, or inside a taco.

And while I don't mind that the meat loaf is right up against the mash potatoes and carrots and peas. I don't want mash potatoes and gravy on my crispy breaded fried chicken....

Remember TV dinners? I used to hate how the mash potatoes, or the carrots and peas, somehow ended up on the desert section!

For the most part I don't mind if my food touches, but I do want my food to stay in their assigned areas. I don't want my meatloaf wandering into the carrots and peas section.

Hey! Meatloaf! Get out of the carrots and peas section! You don't belong there.

And while I like to put some mashed potatoes on my fork and dab it onto the corn to pick some of the corn up. That does not give the corn the license to roam around in the mashed potatoes section.

Corn! Get back! Now!

If I have fish.... Wow... I don't want any of the other foods invading my fish fillet's privacy. That would be just plain rude!

Mashed potatoes! That's fish! What are you even thinking?! Get the hell out of there!

Yeah. I don't mind if my food touches, but there are exceptions, it seems.

Definitely have them apart. The taste would just be awkward I'd think. Great example by the way! I feel like some foods don't matter when touching, but some definitely do in my opinion.

That is a little annoying when TV dinners do that. But I don't mind it too much.

Interesting. Knowing me, I'll just eat because it doesn't matter to me. But if you aren't fond of it then that is alright.

Haha, if it's food, I'll eat it. I can definitely see your point of view.

I'd also say it depends, sometimes I don't mind but creamed corn or applesauce near my mashed potatoes is a nightmare.

Depends if the foods I'm eating have strong flavors. like sauerkraut or any pickled vegetables I make, if that touches something like a sweet potato that's not that pleasant to eat.

You're supposed to mix mashed potatoes with other food. That's it purpose. At least food it's typically served with.

Do you guys dunk your bread in soup? I do this and love it, but some people think its gross since it makes the bread soggy.
