There is an inconsistency in this episode! @ 2:40, the results name JJ Leroy as the 3rd place winner of the Grand Prix Finals. @ 17:46, is shows Otabek Atlin with Viktor and Chris as the bronze medalist. Throughout the rest of the series, Otabek is named as the third place winner and it is seemingly revealed that Barcelona is JJ's first Grand Prix appearance (he definitely acts and skates like it is).

Times are from Crunchyroll's upload of the episode on Youtube.

It all makes sense now!

Otabek must've used his time travel powers to change history and take JJ's place in the contest. He would've gotten away with it too if you hadn't caught him!

My best guess is that the writers probably planned on having JJ there from the beginning and then changed his and Otabek's stories later for some reason, but then forgot to change that scoreboard in the beginning before the episode aired. Not sure what else could explain the mix up.

I've closed this since we already have a discussion thread for Yuri On Ice and a post like this would fit in better there than as its own thread.

Edit: I do see now that you have already posted there.
