Yeah but that's what makes life unique. If we never had horrible things to talk about, how can we have hope?

Just like a soon to be mother going through some horrible life issues that gets handed 900$ that's hope

So the good news is tossed aside while the bad news getting a standing ovation?

What if we lived in a world where good news was more appreciated than bad news?

People tend to pay more attention to you if you're screaming "FIRE" at them. Now if you can convince them the fire is burning 24/7 you've got yourself a cable news network. >.>

I think this guy was really awesome for doing this. I've never been pregnant but I have been a waiter and I know for a fact that's not something I want to do while expecting. Good on this soon to be mother for working so hard and good on the customer for rewarding her strong efforts so generously.

The service industry is brutal, yeah. But especially in the States where lot of places they underpay you on the expectation you'll make it up in tips. A slow / bad night for a waitress in the US is really hard. Up here in Canuckistan the min wage in a couple provinces can be slightly lower if you're a direct liquor server. But other than that you have a guaranteed living wage plus your tips.

Not so lucky down there. This story is in Arizona so her employer is only required to pay her $5 / hour as long as she makes at least $3 an hour in tips to meet the state minimum wage. So her tips count as part of her minimum wage. =/

I dunno, I really enjoy hearing about this kind of stuff, I much prefer it over the negativity in our country lately. This, at least, makes my day feel a little better, and not the opposite.

I no longer trust a damn thing the news says - and I think a majority of America feels that way now... so maybe this is them trying a different approach to get their ratings back.

That was kind. Most people aren't that nice in this world. I bet that pregnant woman had a huge smile on her face.

Most people are. But it doesn't fill a 24/7 news cycle.

Blood for the Blood Ratings God.

Back when they killed the bearer of bad news right? Ahhh why can't we just enjoy the good news and accept the bad in stride?
