Driving a Hondat Fit 2016. Works fine, saves me money on gas, small enough to fit in most parking spaces around NY, folding seats allow me to have enough room for most relatively large items and for my dogs to run around in the back.

I am preparing to buy my first new car. what brand and type of car do you suggest in price and quality?

everything you need to know

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/new-cars/buying-advice/index.htm

be sure to look up the fees as well and don't buy their extended warranty crap

note..

a new car will lose about 17% of its value after 1 year and about 47% after 3 years.

for for the best deal.. the last week of the current year is the right time to buy the current model year

explanation - now is the right time to buy 2016 models --since it's the last week of the year

if they still have 2016 models next year at the stealerships.. then buy 2016..

the car will be 1 year old.. so registration and insurance will be cheaper

lastly if you don't like to haggle .. try costco auto program

if you have a friend who is a mechanic or those who know about cars.. bring them with you

I always go with my family members when they are buying used or new cars..

you will pay a higher price for not knowing.. so armed yourself with knowledge that can save you thousands

good luck!

If you have a secure job and can afford it I recommend buying a car on finance rather than a cheap second-hand rubbish that you will have to fork out on for repairs. I recently bought a brand new Honda 4x4 and it's so sexy the colour is "midnight glitter" and it does have actual glitter in the paintwork.

Anything but Toyota. I've had three with the hope the next one would be better than the last...they weren't. My current has undergone at least 8 recalls so far.
