We all did stupid shit at your age. Learn from the experience.

Before the fight I bet it felt like something was telling you, '"Hey, this probably ain't such a great idea." remember that for next time.

@op, Any time you fight someone, you risk killing your opponent. It's not very likely if your using gloves, but it's not impossible either. A strong hit to someone's temple is enough to rupture a blood vessel in their head and kill them, or they could have an unknown heart condition or something.

If your fighting someone, and they die, for whatever reason, you'll probably get charged with involuntary manslaughter at the very least. This is why you should only use force on someone for self-defense. Be thankful that you are not in that situation right now.

Your profile says that you are 17, it's time to start thinking of all the consequences of your actions, and apply common sense. BEFORE you act.
This is the best advice I can give you. It's the best way to avoid prison or death and let you grow to a nice old age. I've had some friends who could not grasp that, and they now have to endure a hellish life of their own creation. Prison is full of idiots who just wanted to act tough to impress their friends.

Think.

So I recently got into a fight with my friend. The fight was totally agreed upon by both persons. We also we wearing boxing gloves. It was in the middle of the street at 1 am 12 people, every single one hyping it up. So, the fight starts and he lands the first few blows then I swing land a good one. He then rushes me and I throw a haymaker to the face. After that he got knocked out for 30 seconds, but when he woke up couldn't walk for a few minutes. Today I found out that he bruised his brain and I gave him a concussion. Could the family press charges even though he also agreed to fight me ?

gather all the statements you can and prepare for a lawsuit..

learn from this.. verbal agreement is hard to prove.. if you are going to do this again (i hope not).. at least get it in writing or on video

if you like fighting so much why not join the UFC or Boxing tournament.. you can beat up people or they can beat the crap out of you for money there..

yes.. his family can sue you.. and all he needs to do is say he never agreed to the fight and that he was pressured/threaten into it by a group of punks..

then you are screwed..

Start looking up lawyers just in case. Do not rely on a public defender unless you want to lose your trial.

Hopefully he won't press charges, but if he does perhaps you can get off on medical bills, community service and whatnot.
I agree with the above poster, if you want to fight and not end up in a situation like this again there are MMA and boxing gyms everywhere you can go to.
