Probably, yes. Though I would not have stumbled unknowingly into my ex's fan club to begin with ;p

Alright then.

I would just leave once I saw her.

But my just recently ex is a writer. And I will say, just because someone has a book signing, or coincidence created the above scenario of your current gf finding a book your ex wrote and liked it, then showed it to you and you liked it too...doesn't mean she hit it big or became famous. My ex has written several books, and has been in many book signings, but barely makes anything enough to consider her full time writing, just a hobby to me. She makes less in a month usually than I do in a day at my part time job.

But in this scenario your ex became super famous for their work.

No I'm not that immature it's in the past people change.
Walking out would be rather silly in my opinion ex or not you are still a fan of their work.

Some people change and some don't. But your beyond terrible ex is one of those people who will never really change. The only difference in your ex's life is that they published a book that and became famous for it. But they are still the same scumbag.

I mean you can get the book sign for your new boyfriend but for yourself not so much.

I would still get the book signed for myself.

I respect their work and craftmanship but not the person itself you need to put the two apart.
Alot of good literature has been written by shitty people.

Alright then.

Knowing someone like that personally does put you in a unique position to see their public and private faces at the same time. And whether or not they are similar or cynical polar opposites. My ex falls somewhat in the latter category. Though her public face has taken some hits in recent years.

But yes, it would be hard to unknowingly become a fan of your ex's work like that. Someone hiding behind a pen name for example isn't going to be doing book tours.

Have a threesome with Ex and new GF.

Chances are the that new GF knew that the author was my ex, even equal chance that they are in cahoots, and organized this entire situation to either have a threesome or murder me or even blackmail me for money.

Hence the threesome invitation, watch how they react to each other, plant bugs to listen to their conversations and record everything.

When the time comes and they reveal their hand, I reveal mine and destroy the author Ex's career and my soon to be ex GF's life.

You're better off insulting her then walking away...quietly. Then explain everything to your new girlfriend.

It's hard to pretend if you had a very abusive ex.
