Robotics;Notes is set in the same world as Steins;Gate and as a fan of Steins;Gate I think it's a great entry into the universe of the shows (which if I'm not wrong does include Chaos;Head) and it has some small things that are similar though its not obvious as to what they are till the end, as for Spice and Wolf it is a Amazing show so I don't see why you wouldn't buy it. Then again this just my thoughts and opinions so do with them as you will, I hope it's helpful to you in making a decision.

I can't say anything about Robotics; Notes, as I haven't seen it. BUT do buy Spice and Wolf! I may be a bit biased, but it really is a great anime! I mean I loved it enough to buy it myself.

Although I enjoyed Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0, Robotics;Notes did not pique my interest enough to look into it, so I cannot comment on it. However, I would recommend Spice and Wolf.

Funimation has both shows, so if you’re in the US, I would try a few episodes of each there before buying, especially if you have no prior knowledge of either series.

Haven't watched Robotics;Note, but yes I'd recommend buying Spice and Wolf. One of my favorites and it is very cheap, you can easily get both seasons in a box set for under $30 total. (bought my copy on rightstuf a few years back)

This might seem counterintuitive, but in the future stick to buying series you have already watched online and enjoyed.

I own probably 15-20 box sets, but they are of shows I loved streaming and I knew that I was going to end up rewatching them, that and of course I got them when they were on sale or under the $30 mark

Raoku isn't wrong Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate both tie in directly to Robotics;Notes. The most direct tie-in of which is ...

She goes from the youngest member of the Steins;Gate cast to the oldest member of the Robotics;Notes cast and isn't the only returning character .

It's definitely as character-driven as Steins and you most likely will find yourself liking the supporting characters even more than the two leads (especially Frau Koujiro
and Mr. Pleiades
), a lot of us do .
