There's a history of drug legality throughout all countries that shows governments make whatever the hell they want legal if its incentive to join them and go to war (rome was famous for supplying wine before battles), awhile afterwards they tend to make it illegal, then start killing their citizens. More recently, this has already been happening for tobacco where rulers would execute citizens openly if they found them in possession ( https://inpud.wordpress.com/timeline-of-events-in-the-history-of-drugs/ ). Every plant, ore, stone, etc has already been fought over at some developmental point for our societies to be this way. Eventually the citizens are going to start destroying their governments and end this trend.

I say ban everything that I don't like and other people do because I'm intolerant and have an inflated ego.

Let's say your government finally bans caffeine and cigarette. How will people react to this? Will there be more riots and death? What will you do?

I don't care because I don't smoke or drink coffee/tea*shrugs*

Do you drink soda and/or eat chocolate?

To be honest? I believe university students and office clerks would unite and overthrow the government within a week. They may have tanks. We have sleep deprevation and a boring job or a 12 page essay to finish till Friday.

btw. yes. caffeine does affect tea as teain is the same as caffeine

Caffeine gets banned: It'd be like the Roaring 20s but instead of flappers its cosplayers and there's no Stock Market Crash. I'd probably participate in the caffeine distribution.

Smoking gets banned: Riots here and there but at least I can walk pretty much anywhere without dealing with secondhand smoke.

"Give a frontiersman coffee and tobacco and he will endure any privation, suffer any hardship, but let him be without these 2 necessaries of the woods, and he becomes irresolute and murmuring."~U.S. Army Lt. William Whiting, 1849.

To ban two necessities that help build a strong country would greatly lessen its future strength in ways those lacking common sense would understand.

I eat milk or white chocolate, there's caffeine in that? I don't drink soda.

I would be thrilled if cigarettes were banned. But caffeine, not so much as unlike with cigarettes, there are people who need it and certainly it isn't a bad thing when enjoyed responsibly. Now, with cigarettes there is nothing good about them, so that would be quite a big accomplishment. But there's also the black market that needs to be dealt with, which makes it not such a good idea to ban it right now.
