Hearing the saddening news about: Carrie Fisher's, Richard Adams', George Michael's deaths; seeing numerous memes mocking the year and watching Vox's year end summary video really has me convinced that this year was terrible. But how has the year been for you personally? Was it rather a great year? Or did it leave you feeling depressed? This certainly was one of the least happy years I've experienced in my short life. At very few points did I feel genuinely happy and I cannot wait for a new start in 2017. All I can say is there were quite a few dope albums this year I can fall back on for that sense of euphoria.

Every year can't be great. You get what you get.

My year was good because I don't care about celebrities or try to pretend that I did care.

It was good to me. Everyone else is having a bad year, so that just makes it even better.

Not to minimize all the people who died and Brexit, but 2016 was a great year for me personally.

alot of ups and downs this year. tbh it really melded together with the last few months of 2015. Seeing the way things are playing out now, and seeing how there are so many people that don't care to make a change has really motivated (idk if motivated is the right word, more like scared) me into stepping my game up about 2 or 3 notches more than I had originally planned. I definitely think it was beneficial though. My views on life are constantly changing and it's making me a smarter and stronger person overall

Seems like everyone is aware that there is a sxxtstorm on the way, but instead of preparing for it, it looks like most people are just going to have as much fun as they can while they can.

------

Speaking of great albums, My top 3 Hip Hop Artists (Kanye, Travis Scott, and Kid Cudi) all dropped dope albums this year and they're going to be bumped well into 2017

humans dying has no personal effect to me, Trump won so 2016 was great and 2017 will be even better.

This year was my best year actually.

So I have no idea where you're trying to go with this. People die all the time.

On a personal level? This year has been rather amazing.
I've moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Raleigh, North Carolina. I've started a relationship (last November) that ended up being probably the best relationship I've ever been in (we get along swimmingly well).
On the business/job front, I think that the company I work for has had its fair share of ups and down - mostly due to the fact that the executives are stubborn. It might be time for me to move on; seeing as we're trying to get acquired (or merged) into another company willing to buy us out. I'm not really one to stick around for all of that hassle (I've done it before and it wasn't very satisfying).

--------------------------------------

On a news-level (politics and all that), I think that this year has been rather negative as a whole.
Quite a few celebrities have passed away, which isn't something that personally impacts me. However, I will say that it's still a bit sad to know that some of these actors/actresses/musicians will no longer make the art they're known for. Sad, but I can't say that I'm mourning these individuals myself (as I did not personally know them).

When it comes to politics, I'm sure we all have our own personal views on it. I do think that it's quite a downer to see how brutal and bullish that the recent election had to be in order to "convey" our thoughts as a country. People were fed up with the same thing to fruition; however, all we've done is elected the same kind of policies that we were getting tired of. Obama and Trump are basically the same when it comes to how they were voted in - the desire for "change". I really don't have much hope for Trump either; but, again, anecdotal at best (my personal view). Regardless of your view - the election itself was nonsensical and wore the political spectrum down to the bare bone.

There were a lot of deaths this year; not just celebrities, but due to terrorist attacks and other forms of attacks. It just seems to be a slew of ongoing issues that will continue to escalate. I don't see 2017 being much better in regards to politics/attacks/riots/etc. I'm hoping it will be, though.

This year was good because no one from my family is dead or sick and we had the cutest baby born in this year so I'm happy. I could care less for celebrities.

I was sad to see George Michael and David Bowie pass away this year. Really loved their music but never met any of them. Always felt that George Michael needed a good hug. There always seemed to just be this cloud of sadness around him...

I was very happy to see Trump win, but then again, I knew he'd win the day he announced his candidacy. We've elected actors as presidents, so I can't imagine that a businessman would do any worse than the alternative that was presented to us.

I was born in a monkey year, and typically, you don't do well when it's your animal's time to shine. This was an ok year, and probably as good of a year as can be expected because of that. January 28 ushers in the Year of the Fire Chicken, so I expect better things.

2016 has been a year of change for me and probably for the world as a whole. That said I don't see how it's been all that bad compared to other years. 2015 wasn't that great either.
