Only if a certain number of people hate a specific group. Can't be too much or too little.

There is a sweet spot that eventually attracts progressives to like the hated group for the sake of being progressive, because people want to feel like they are good.

Sometimes this is good. Sometimes this is bad. Either way it eventually brings tolerance and understanding to the given group or thing.
