If you look at the origin of the word 'meme' (as defined by Dawkins who coined the term in 1976) and realize that it basically covers things like religion, language, science, and basically any idea human beings can come up with, it would be silly to say that marriage isn't a meme.

Marriage has no value to human life. People are simply slaves to their urges.

Its a status thing. It lets other people know that youre taken and its the next level beyond just being boyfriend and girlfriend.

Also its a way to tie the knot and express the ultimate commitment to each other, at least thats the intended purpose. Ideally youd both be Romeo and Juliet, but some people get married for other reasons.

Those people are so disgustingly sad.

Lol why?

I don't think most people really understand the concept of marriage, or even the concept of loving someone. It looks to me like now a days women just get married to have a wedding rather than for commitment purposes, and guys just get married to have essentially unlimited and guaranteed sex. All the other stuff like combining assets, starting a family, and caring for and being committed to each other is just extra benefits.

The graphic should not be seen as an accurate representation. Every person is different. If a long term relationship is the goal, it's best to get to know them and develop a stable relationship where you can be open and honest with each other.

I've been in a relationship since 2004. I do not need to sign a piece of paper to validate my commitment. I was never the girl that dreamed of some extravagant wedding or of being "a good wife" by staying home, cooking, cleaning, and having children. There are plenty of women that want and prefer that life, and that is their decision to make. I'm not this way for some ultra feminist reason. I just really do not care.

They feel they "need" that garbage to continue living life.

Well, I bet the americans love such tedious "blame the other party" for most things either it being by belief, gender, race and so on.
But that both (either male or female) could potentialy do things like discribed in this topic.
I have personally known many females that could... by the time if made then a bit more "into it"
(like doing something fun and maybe drinking and ofc being/playing safe).

Again though... I would also know many guys that can be like that as well ofc everything could depend on the moment and anything could change later in life.
But if they are meaning that many has always a guy on the side is a bit weird but not a "totally rare thing to do".
If you find someone that could be/act or change to the better then the current marriage it could be good to change things up, but with all the rules/laws that would come into play could make a bigger impact then what yourself might want.

As I personally know a few wifes and husbands that could be better off with someone else, while this is most common with economy and just to make it together even if they have begun to dislike each other.

So all I would want to say is that marriage can be rough and its better to know for the future if you are going to live with someone and know they will stay for the future (even though again anything could change).

Some might want sex from others even if they are in marriage, sure they could talk with their partner or if its a part of the partner that is the "problem".
This would lead to some problems but it doesn't need to be that bad, only that one shouldn't really be encouraged to do this and one might not know what the partner could do even if they agreed to it.
(some people act differently around or how they have sex to personal issues so don't be all out if it doesn't work, you might find ways to make it better).

a bit less a "need" for some but more a goal to make us "complete".
Sure they wouldn't really need it, but yes there are people that use it without any sense and/or too early in life or in their "development" stage.
I would call that a more garbage way of doing it and doing it many times (unless the other party have died or something?).

You watch anime dont you? So you probably understand the appeal of love and relationships. I think like half of people dont live ' happily ever after' but its become idealized in media and it was the reason weddings were invented. Most people want security or dont want to die alone so they get married for those reasons, but finding someone who will love you forever is a privilege only some people get. Which could make you want it even more. People have desires and want to fulfill them. But if you dont want it there are still other ways to attain happiness.
