Are you special? No seriouly not a joke i'm asking. You really think anyone is going to make it legal to f$%@ kids ever?...........I don't think there are the words. No they didn't decriminalize child f$%#ing. They cleaned up a hasty passed law that was badly written. States do it all the time . Their is moral outrage a state passed a shitty written law. Lawyer argue it out in the court when some one finds the grammer error or mistaken loophole. State slip a wording adjuctment in to the current law or replace it. happens all the time. Know those "Stupid law" sites most of those don't exist anymore because of such pratices.

you've got some pretty weird ideas about this then . . . like i don't know if there are statistics either and i don't personally feel like trying to find some right now, but your "cynicism" does not really seem to match up with anything i've heard or seen about reality

like . . . prostitution is not exactly known for being a fun and desirable career, especially when it's illegal and extra dangerous. even the most promiscuous people usually just prefer to have sex for free and only with partners they actually want to do it with. the "willing, rebellious girls" you're talking about probably exist somewhere, but they're sure as hell not the majority. prostitution is usually something people resort to when they have no other options, either in the sense that they're extremely poor, or in the sense that they're being coerced/threatened into doing it or are literal sex slaves. which is actually a lot more fucked up than your "cynical" alternative, so i get the impression that when you say you're cynical you actually just mean you have some issues with teenage girls

they're not FORCING anyone to have paid sex with them - otherwise the issue here would be rape - and if they're hurting themselves that means they need help, not punishment. you might have a legitimate point in the legal sense about taxes, but i'm still not seeing how "letting people do things with your body and voluntarily give you money for it" is supposed to be some heinous crime

Maybe we just have different experiences on the matter. Maybe I just coincidentally have seen a lot of bad cases and it has my view skewed, I don't know. My cynicism doesn't really matter, because again, I do want help for those that need and want it. If that means I'm wrong about these people, then I would change my view. Numbers that prove me wrong would change my opinion instantly.

Let's not get into whether prostitution is okay or not, because that's really just a moral thing and probably getting too off-topic and general.

Sigh. That's literally exactly what the bill does. It decriminalizes prostitution for minors so that minors are not charged with prostitution and sent into the juvenile system. It also empowers officers to take a minor into temporary protective custody if they are found soliciting. The idea is to redirect underage prostitutes into the system that HELPS them not the one that PUNISHES them. It doesn't legalize having sex with minors. It shields the minors from being charged with prostitution when they are the victims in the scenario not the criminals.

For the love of gorb please apply some critical thinking to your internet wandering.

i thought the same when reading as well, like put your damn critical thinking hat on geez

Another prosecutor insightfully observed that if traffickers wrote legislation to protect themselves, it would read like SB 1322.

Minors involved in prostitution are clearly victims, and allowing our law enforcement officers to pick these minors up and get them away from their pimps and into custody is a dramatically better solution than making it legal for them to sell themselves for sex. That only deepens their victimization and renders law enforcement powerless to stop the cycle of abuse. SB 1322 is not simply misguided — its consequences are immoral.

This is the worst news that I had to wake up to, in a very long time. They just made it easier for Pizzagate to happen in the State of California. Hey! A pimp, pimping a "legal" prostitute can' be prosecuted effectively, if no crimes have been committed... Right?

This is the worst fail, I have ever witnessed in my entire life. I thought I've seen some bad fails, but no.... There is no fail as worse than this.....

If they really wanted to to protect those kids, then they should have kept things the same, except instead of cops bringing the child prostitues to jail, and booking them. The cops bring the kids to a Department of Childrens' and Families' Services center, for rescue and rehabilitation....

No... They just made it a shit-ton easier for pedo-bear to prey on kids......

Utterly disgusting....

Please read the rest of the thread. That article is grossly misinformed.

*shows a few government links with the most official information on the amendment*
A: *completely ignores official sources* "look at ze article! it says government is legalizing pedophilia!"

any similarities with some posters here is just a coincidence

Stigginit is a portmanteau of the phrase "sticking it to the libs"

My god, could they not even make a portmanteau properly?

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the posters here are paid political astroturfers (I've been running into a lot of them this past year). I'd normally hate to think that a lot of people would be so gullible, but then, 2016 has been filled with unfortunate surprises.

I don't see the problem with treating children as victims instead of criminals in this case. It not unprecedented where minors, sex, and adults are involved (eg. Statutory Rape).

I can see that holding water with some of the users in question but for most not so much. When someone is paid to push an agenda on internet forums it is usually incredibly obvious by the accounts all being made at roughly the same time and the fake users only posting in threads relating to said agenda (see driv3rgate) so I doubt many of these forum users are like that.

I can respect the fact that people have varying opinions but stupidity this blatant can only be fake. What do people get out of being known (by a small number of regulars) as the village idiot in a small anime forum?

I've seen Amyas spout straight Stormfront propaganda, so I decided from then on to just avoid him. The only possibilities are that he's an idiot, or he's legitimately someone coming onto a fucking anime forum to recruit white supremacists.
