I remember the times when karaoke was a given to anime lovers. I remember a time when people used to love singing along to music. Oh right... People still like singing along to music. that's right. I'd almost forgotten that Crunchyroll still has not catered for the optimal requests of its users.

Look I get it, people still pay and people still watch but every Comicon I've been to there are always people talking about how crap it is that we no longer see as often as we would like Japanese pronunciation of words in the beginning and ending themes to animes. With Crunchyroll always the subject of disdain for this reason. Yes. I used the word crap. It is crap. Why translate only the dialogue? It makes so little sense. If this thread has been thrown up before, why are you not listening to your customers?

I have been a member for a long time and yeah, I'm not threatening anything here, but if I was offered a similar service with karaoke, I'd pay more for it and switch ships. Loyalty means nothing if the service you are getting is not a full one.

I request most humbly that you listen to the many people that just want to read and understand the meaning of the songs they are hearing at the beginning and ends of their favourite anime. We want the English translation with pronunciation below. and you know, stylish highlighted text in time to the music would be great.

And I cant even sing!

Creating subtitles for song is a derivative work, and the rights to creating a derivative work of a piece of music is not typically included with the streaming rights that are secured for simulcast titles. This is the major reason that song subtitles are not included on CR.

as for the reason, CR would need to pay for the right to add subs to the opening / ending themes.

"pronunciation of Japanese words"...if by that you mean romaji, those things makes me cringe. at the very least use kana, though some series already have the transcript for the opening / ending (example: Aikatsu, Pripara)

I fixed three errors in your title and description.

Others have already explained why offering this feature isn't a simple thing.
