The Dark Souls community is a strange one. There are so many people who are extremely helpful and will go well out of their way to try to introduce the games to others. But there are also so many people who see there being only one way to play the game (their way) and crap on anyone who doesn't instantly "git gud." These people often seem to forget that they themselves are speaking with the background of several Souls games worth of experience and a healthy storage of knowledge on what to do and not to do. It's sort of sad to see the Souls community get crapped on so much by those who call it toxic.. but I can't really defend it either.

you heard of Tom Clancy Division ?.. the game has some dark zones? where there's friendly fired enabled? pretty much people on your side can go rouge and kill you to take all your items or something--

when you have friendly fire enabled.. the match will not go anywhere..

i was in a match years ago where we got nothing done in Killzone 2 .. friendly fire was enabled

there was a troll going around shooting teammates instead of the enemies.. it lasted for the whole match..

online games that will require teamwork to progress will be more friendly.--- like Resident evil 5 game..

when i first started.. i got users who will give me a lot of free stuff right off the bat! h to help me survive + getting various items from places i didn't even notice before..

i thought Minecraft is a community friendly game before i saw the video..

also.. i wouldn't say "people are assholes".. some are.. but not all

There are a lot of very nice gamers out there. A whole community of them, tight-knit "families". It may be difficult to get into an established circle without going through forums and whatnot, but if you're serious keep on trying. (And don't dis people you don't know.)

I'd put, Fighting Game Community, Call Of Duty & Battlefield as top 3 toxic video game communities & that's saying alot. Other than that, not all gamers are a-holes & it's wrong when people do that based off few or several bad apples.

The Fighting Game Community is actually a pretty solid one from my experience, but they're very concerned with people actually making an effort. You need to actually respect the games, the skills involved in playing them and in the history of the community or, yeah, you're probably going to get crapped on. It's a community that is built on respect given it's origins in the rough and tumble arcade world. Put some effort into actually learning the games and not expecting to have your hand held, though, and it's usually going to be cool. Also on the plus side, because it's largely merit based, the FGC is actually more welcoming to minorities than many other gaming communities.

The fighting game community is the best imo, just respect what it is and you're set. I've rarely had any problems in the FGC

People like LTG, Wolfkrone, etc rage quitting ranked so they don't lose their points. Wolfkrone is considered a pro, he was one of the first to hit Master Rank(something only 4 people have) due to the fact he quits every time he loses, unless it's against another pro since he'll be chewed out extra hard. There's also people like DSP in the SF community, he was actually a REALLY good player back in the early and mid 2000s but he's ass now and he still has that complex. He's always saying, "I was a pro back in ____ one of the best" never refusing to let things go. Another big complaint is spending $60 on characters that should have already been in the game and what not.

They're giving grim reapers next to rage quitters, I actually want the emblem because it looks cool. It's easy to rage quit while avoiding getting the emblem, so it's not doing much to people who quit unless they do it constantly.

i encountered a few of these gamers with similar playing tactics..

i think win/loss.. some will switch side or quit before to avoid a loss on their record..

some of these people taking it too seriously over a gamer..

while some are clearly hacking/glitching.. i don't care how skill a gamer is but when you are playing with other gamers of the same rank and you only died 2-3 times in a 30 minutes match while killing 50+ ? you are either glitching or hacking..

this is the reason why it's always best to move on to a newer games when the developer stopped patching up the games..

COD games are infested with hackers/glitchers..

Humanity is defined by it's extremes both bad and good. I am not entirely sure what inbred drunken idiot thought simply because ya viewing humanity through a digital medium that a truth that has been with us since we tied our first sharpened rock to a stick would change. Ya gonna find Saints and inbred assholes no matter were ya go. Pointing out a single subset of a social order like they are the sole source of assholes is in and of itself an asshole thing to do.

Whenever you throw competition of any kind into the mix the creme will float to the top and the shit will eventually spoil the mix. It doesn't matter if we're talking about the Olympics or a match of CS:GO ya know.
