Final one.

Tell what is the best ending to a story by picking any of these options. Whether novels, manga, anime, television, or something else, is there something with a good ending?

These are based on my own opinions

Here are the options. Choose wisely:

A. A Proper Happily Ever After: Some stories have a happily ever after ending that does not match the story at all. Then comes the proper ones that leave you feeling good inside.

B. Bittersweet: An ending that can leave a bitter taste in your mouth but at the same time comes off as sweet.

C. Justice: Hero saves the day and evil loses.

D. Everyone dies: Now I know that this can be a bad/horrible ending. But depending on the right type of story not everyone is lucky enough to live. Some characters or all have to die because that's the sad honest reality.

E. Sacrifice: The main character ends their life to save everyone and everything because it was the only way.

F. Thus A Child Is Born: Like the happily ever after, the main character and another character get married and have a child. Some times the child can be an indication that there could be more to come of the story or simply something else.

G. Well Done, Cliffhanger: A cliffhanger done in a way where you know the story will continue. And it does continue and leaves you satisfied.

H. Earning your happy ending: A story that is so sad and bitter and extreme that you wonder if the main character will survive it all. But the main character pulls through and manages to get his or hers happy ending.

I. Answered All The Questions: An ending where every major and minor question has been answered leaving not a single plot hole.

J. Sad but meaningful endings: An ending that comes off as sad but has a lot of meaning. It's not your typical sad ending.

K. Everyone is happy which makes me happy: The main character may not have gotten his or her happy ending. But the other characters who are just as important did get their happy ending. The main character is at least happy knowing that everyone else earned their happy ending.

L. The Last and Final Ending: An ending that let's you know that this is it. There will be no adding on to the story because everything was resolved. The main character completed their goal and questions have been answered. The ending left you satisfied and content. What's done is done. It's officially over and you're happy.

If you can't decide from these options, make up your own. List down examples if you have to.

generally one that makes sense to the story also personally prefer more happy endings most of the time as well as unless its hinting a continuation a final end so i guess A for me would likely be closest

It actually depends on what kinda story the movie or whatever brings to me in my opinion, even though I usually want a really happy ending, because otherwise I feel like shit for a couple of days.

So I might go for a general A just because I want to feel kinda decent after wasting 2 hours of my life on a movie that moved me on different levels.

If i can compare to a movie for a second: If you have seen the movie Fury, read further, if not, SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

In Fury, at the end all 4 members that are left of the crew die, and the last one standing is the new guy Norman. Now, watching the movie, you really get attached to the characters and at the end it really sucked that they all died (yes, the movie wanted to bring more realism than other WWII movies, but hear me out).
Because I grew so attached to the characters, I really wanted them to survive the battle at the crossroad - even though they were majorly outnumbered. I know, it isn't realistic that they would win against 300ish troups as one tank batallion but still, I really wanted them to win and survive. That's why I chose A, because this movie chose option D and yes - it is the realistic way of portraying this scene. But still, I would've loved for option A to have happened in this movie, and with lots of other movies as well...

So ya, option A for me haha!

All of those endings could suffice more than likely if they are done correctly. I think the biggest thing to me is good writing. If something isn't written well regardless of the ending it won't be enjoyable. However endings with meaning are what I enjoy the most personally.

Not true not everything in existence ends the idea that everything has a beginning and an end itself makes us being alive that this very moment illogical

the best end to a story is one left unfinished one that allows it to be continued by the minds of others.
I hate endings

one could argue the best "Ending" is a loop that creates itself making a cycle of rebirth where the end begins anew.

Impossible to answer since each story needs a different ending to be considered good. For example I think the School Days ending has was the best choice for how they made it, but I'm one of the few who doesn't think that is the worst anime ever.
In my experience though you will get the most discrepancy in romance anime/manga as everyone wants a different pair.
