CNN Lies about Japan's Virginity

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV_BKB75iwg

Why would CNN purposefully misrepresent facts? Why would they out right tell lies? Why is it alright for CNN to give fake news, but not alternative news sources?

Who said it's okay for anyone to produce fake news?

Meanwhile, the best you could accuse CNN of is a misleading title considering the second paragraph in the article the youtube video is complaining about mentions singles:
"That's according to a government survey published last week, claiming that 42% of men and 44.2% of women -- almost half of Japan's millennial singles aged between 18 to 34 -- are virgins."
http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/20/asia/japanese-millennials-virgins/

Maybe next time don't rely on a youtube video to do your reading for you.

If you had looked at the youtube video, you would have seen that he actually addressed that point. Next time, actually watch the video or read the article, before you tell someone else to do the same.

My bad, I stopped paying attention when he focused on the title.

So it's a quibble about the age breakdown. Still not quite the same as making a story up on the spot.

**And yet the video is mostly about quibbling about the title and graphic labels: https://youtu.be/DV_BKB75iwg?t=107

Oh look crunchyroll is talking about this too: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/09/17-1/study-reports-40-of-japanese-adult-singles-are-virgins

It's so fucking gross how people find some way to relate anything about japan to sex (or lack of), always subtlely referring to the population decline. Imagine if people were as engross in talking about this topic when it comes to pandas

"Look, this panda is a virgin!"

You know if you want to villify a CNN there are actual problems with them you can address, right? You really don't have to nitpick a poorly worded title.

Bad headline, but not fake news. Although even if it were fake I don't really care about the sex lives of Japanese people etc. Already fake news is morphing into something else, articles that contain any inaccuracy instead ones that are for the most part made up.

At this point in time, there aren't any unbiased news sources. As someone has stated in another thread, (to paraphrase) "Without bias, the news will be boring and you won't watch it." Essentially, without some type of bias in their reporting, the viewer will become disinterested in what's being displayed because the information doesn't run parallel to their own beliefs or views.

Though, I will say that this specific example appears to be more of a poor judge of title for an article. I can't count how many news sites/outlets do this - from The Drudge Report to Politico ... most (if not all) partake in clickbait-style titles to gain someone's attention, either due to shock titles or rage-inducing ones. CNN isn't innocent by any given means; it's just that since they're a 24/7 news outlet - they're just a bit more desperate to get someone's attention (on either side of the political spectrum).

Badly worded headline AND ignored facts, as well as misrepresented data... CNN misrepresented the data as well as badly worded the headline of the article.

In other words. They lied.

So what, still not fake news. Do you think it was done maliciously and if so what do they gain from lying about the sex lives of unmarried Japanese 20 somethings?

It looks like poor reporting, hardly scandalous. Not a problem unless you only get news from one place.

*sigh* i am so sick and tired of the left wing liberal 9/11 vast right wing conspericy trolls.
1. yes we did land men on the moon.
2. the cia did not kill jfk.
3 . george w. bush did not blow up the world trade centire.
4. hillary clinton lost because she sucked as a cantidate.
a. not because fake news
b. not because russian hacking.
c. not because white supremicists

she was just a bad cantiatidate and demmocrats in general pissed off middle america.

rather than making up bullshit excuses for their complete failure to understand working class poor americans perhapse, the democrats and their koolaid drinking interet trolls should reconcider their approach. as me old wise grandma said, "you catch more flies with honey tha vinagar".

this is from an independant who sat out the election because both cantidates were repugnant but, the whining and hand wringing from the left is just pathetic. if you don't want to get your asses kicked in the midterms you need to stop the childish bullshit and honestly reealvate your message.

as we said in the army; "take it with a grain of salt and drive on".
