Fate/Zero same with above post for same reason. Too boring, but I tried it again and it's so amazing. In my top 3. Also, Blue exorcist. Stopped at ep 3 i dont remember why but as soon as I saw ep 4 I loved it.

Gintama, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Shirobako. All are now top 20 favorites.

After giving Gintama a second try and enjoying it to the point where I watched 20+ episodes a day, I got burnt out and dropped half of the simulcasts I was watching that specific season. One of them was Shirobako.

Heard good things about Gintama, failed to find anything in the first arc to make me continue watching. Now down the line I still think the first arc is the weakest in the series, but glad I continued for what was past it.

Elfen Lied. Tried watching it when I was younger but dropped it because it was way too upsetting.

Gave it another go a few months back and absolutely loved it. Now it's easily in my top 5 if not top 3.

The Irregular at Magic High School. I really disliked it when it first started airing and dropped it at episode 3, but I recently gave it a second chance and I've found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would~

I thought the first episode of Kill la Kill was too ridiculous for the series to ever actually amount to anything worthwhile, so I dropped that during its airing season. Then tried again a year later, and it was pretty fun to watch.

Another one I recall was Minami-Ke. I thought the characters seemed too one dimensional from the first episode I watched (and I'm not even sure I started the series in the correct season either). So I didn't really "get it," so to speak. But I tried it again later and it was one of the most amusing anime series I've ever seen. Another problem I may have been having was that I didn't develop as much of an appreciation for the slice of life comedy genre until later as well.

Hmm, this was Steins;Gate for me. It was showing on Netflix (UK) and I had put the first 5 or 6 dubbed episodes on as background noise, repeated those a few times, realised I hadn't been paying attention and moved on to something else.

Thankfully rectified that dreadful mistake now, watched in full (twice) and purchased the box set. I guess that's my apology to the show, sort-of!

Thinking about this, I know I've done exactly the same thing with Bodacious Space Pirates, got about halfway through before, well...

Attack On Titan- It seemed so incredibly boring to me for some reason but the extreme popularity made me keep watching it and know i love it!

Not the anime, but Boku no Hero Academia.
I had read the author's previous work, Oumagadoki Dobutsuen and loved it, but found that he didn't know how to write more than X vs Y in giant scattered 1 v 1 battle for good and evil. The character designs and humor were so good, but you can only sit through so many meaningless superpowered 1v1 battles.
I read Hero Academia when it was still starting up and feared it would head in a similar direction and dropped it.
Then my brother bought volumes of the books some years later and I picked it up again out of boredom.
Pleasantly surprised to find out the author had since identified his weaknesses and found ways to overcome them. Deku was really weak, both mentally and physically compared to his previous main characters, which allowed for growth, and the story was focused on his journey rather than a goal, which let him play around more with arc structure and show off the side characters.

I dropped Steins Gate like 3 times within the first 2 episodes because it really didn't click with me. I think many will agree with me that the beginning is the biggest hurdle to get through until it gets the ball rolling. Now Steins Gate is no doubt one of my favorite anime series out there.

Tokyo Ghoul. I watched the first 2 episodes a long while ago, but it grossed me out and I stopped.

My sister loved and recommended it, and I hear there's a live-action coming out this year, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Still grosses me out, but I'm a new fan of Kaneki's seiyuu (Natsuki Hanae, Masamune-kun no Revenge, Twin Star Exorcists) so I gave it a second shot. It's the salivating that grosses me out the most, so I can't eat or have recently eaten while watching it.

I have at least 15 shows where I've watched like 10 of 12/13 episodes of and I haven't finished them. I really need to do that.

I just don't feel like I have to put in the effort in finishing them. The titles vary, it's not like I didn't like them, I just lost interest after a while, when new shows came out.
