http://www.bestbuy.com/site/tales-of-berseria-collectors-edition-playstation-4/5657244.p?skuId=5657244

Visa Checkout was offering $25 off $100 purchase at bestbuy so i tried to add the collector's edition to cart but i can't

i checked again today.. i gues it was sold out! and yet they still have the "add to card" option available 5-6 days ago

I pre-ordered it from Amazon quite a while ago. USPS makes two "loops" in this neighborhood - first one is at 6:30AM for "next day" deliveries and the other is in the afternoon (3PM+) for everything else.

Best Buy seldom stops you from adding it to your cart. It's only when you go to checkout that it gives you that lovely "Sold Out!" error. I had the same issue with the NES Mini and Nintendo Switch.

i guess i'm out of luck then.. do not want to pay the scalpers.. so i'll just get the standard edition..

yeah.. Bestbuy inventory system is not always up to date..

they have items that you can add to cart for weeks even though it's already sold out long before.. i guess it wll help direct traffic to the site..

So no Tales of Berseria CE hype for me today and I'm super salty about it too. My Amazon order has been delayed to Thursday even though I'm Prime and apparently this isn't limited to just me. It's been quite a fiasco this go around with limited availability to storefronts taking preorders that they didn't have the inventory to fill and now even Amazon Prime is experiencing delays likely due to limited stock. RIP my plans for today as I had to cancel my vacation time for today since I was doing so solely to play the game.

I pre-ordered it (standard version) off Amazon months ago and still wasn't able to get it as promised. The rep pretty much told me they did not get enough of either standard or CE to fulfill orders.

Canceled it and just picked up it at a local gamestop. I had to pay $15 more but whatever.

I'll give it a go later tonight.

Won't be playing mine for a bit since Namco shipped it to the wrong address. Kind of pissed at the moment and hoping they make up for it so I'm not out $150 for the collectors edition.

Prologue was pretty intense. Exorcist/Malak are clearly Shepard/Seraphim respectively so there's a connection already. Iffy on the battle system, but it's way too early to judge. I am liking Velvet so far though.

Fans were making a big deal about a certain "censored" scene, but I honestly didn't even notice it.

The battle system does seem to open up a bit once you get more characters and more moves but I'm maybe 7 hours in and I haven't reached the point yet where you have to actually take advantage of all of the options you have. Then again, I'm playing on the normal difficulty so *shrug*

As for the censored scene, I agree. The only reason I noticed it at all was because I had heard about it beforehand. What they did with it was perfectly fine.

Velvet is still great but I'm actually liking all of the characters I've met so far. There hasn't been a dud yet and Magilou is actually giving Velvet a run for her money as best character. Great cast.

Wow this nonsense is even an issue with standard editions? How is this even a thing? At least the 10k units produced of the CE makes more sense than that, though I'm still frustrated that my CE shipment was delayed by 2 days. I honestly think this may be the last time I dish out the money for a Tales CE, to be honest. I'll just go digital on Steam or PS4 from here on out most likely.

This happened with Amazon and Final Fantasy XV's "limited edition". I had ordered the limited edition from Amazon and the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" from Square-Enix. While the UCE came in without any complication, the LE simply didn't arrive on time. Amazon told me that it was USPS' fault and that there was nothing they could do about it. I ended up just going out and purchasing the limited edition (because I had no desire to open the UCE) from Target - returned the LE that came in 2 weeks after the release date (from Amazon).

I think Amazon doesn't usually have a clue as to how many they're actually getting until a few days before the release (especially for popular things like "Tales of.." series or Final Fantasy..). CE/LEs are even more difficult to gauge.

On Topic:

I'm actually rather liking Tales of Berseria so far. Velvet (main character) seems to be a "regular person" who is a bit relatable. The storyline so far has been pretty decent. I'm just the type that levels too much (already level 27 and I just escaped an hour ago..).

This game is pretty great so far. The story flows much better than Tales of Zestiria combat is much better, and Velvet is a much better main character than wimpy Sorey.

Sorey was pretty bad. Storyline wise, I do like some of the additional mechanics (like the expedition system is interesting). There is a title that is earned through staying on the menu screen (which is most of what I'm doing while working) ... a total of 50 hours of simply staying on the menu screen in order to max out said title ("Menu Maven" if you're curious). Weird how there are quite a few perks in just idling/playing casually in this game, which is a bonus (personally).

Velvet is a stronger main character. I like the whole ..

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of what you said is true, but I feel like the publishers also don't make it easy on retailers when they make limited editions that are truly limited, resulting in apparent inventory confusion and ineffective communication between vendor and publisher. I figure that lack of communication is partly why the Tales CE and maybe even the FFXV CE was such a fiasco with both brick and mortar stores and Amazon, though I will say my FFXV Deluxe Edition arrived just fine on launch day.
