Here a scenario:

Lauren's car broke down days ago so she has to take the bus. While on the crowded bus, Lauren manages to find a seat empty next to some old man. So she sits down in the seat. But a little later she finds herself talking to the old man who is kind. The conversation drifts to his late wife. The man decides to show Lauren a picture of his wife when she was younger and she became shocked. In the photo, the man's wife looks exactly like Lauren. So stunned by this Lauren, asked the man if he had more pictures. The man shown Lauren more pictures of his wife and she could not believe her eyes. In all the pictures, Lauren sees a woman who looks like she could be her clone/twin. Scared when Lauren ask what the wife name was, the man told her that his wife's name is also Lauren. The man even shown Lauren a picture of his wife as an old woman which is pretty much Lauren as an old lady. Lauren has never met the old man in her entire life. The old man gets off at a bus stop and waves goodbye to Lauren who was left to think about the things she just witnessed. That was the last time Lauren seen the old man but she is still haunted by what has happened

Make a decision if it is better to put money into a used car versus buying a new one. If I'm faced with taking the bus, consider buying a 30 day pass versus daily fairs. Her encounter is a good story, but that is all, unless there is more it like she's adopted. It truly is a small world.

I think Lauren's having a stroke

No no, but in all seriousness call the police on the stalking old man with Photoshop knowledge.

I would have added more to the scenario but it would have been too long.

Well, I'd have an interesting story for years to come, but I wouldn't put much thought to it beyond that. It's not exactly ground-breaking to have a look-alike. At most; it implies that the two Lauren's are related. Having an identical first name is even less "shocking" than the physical similarity, given that the name "Lauren" has consistently been among the most popular of girl names in the last century. It suddenly became popular in 1945, and has worked it's magic ever since, eventually peaking in 1989, at #9.

Think about what I just saw/witnessed for a couple hours or so. That would be some strange coincidence.....then probably move on with my life.

I'd laugh it off without a worry in the world... unless you omit the quoted line right there. Then, I'd be paranoid.

If there's a reason for it, it'll unfold sooner or later. Things like that that happen for a reason are significant only to those it happens to, and are usually meant for a purpose that becomes clearer at some point. Otherwise, if there is no reason, it's just an eerily fascinating random encounter. Either way, it's great story material.

I probably would have wanted to ask about any possible familial relation, but otherwise doesn't seem like something worth getting worked up over.

I think creative me would probably make it into a book or comic because I often write through experience (not stealing this idea; i frown upon all forms of plagiarism!) and paranoid me would do research of unrelated people looking identical or have my own parents reassure me I didn't have a twin whom I was separated with or something lol. I'd probably pay close to attention to what I look like as I got older, too. Those kinds of situations are weird to me, I dunno.
