Okay serious, you really really need to go do some homework.

http://www.biblestudy.org/question/birth-control.html

their isn't anything saying in the bible that people can't use birth control and the only case of it being considered such is when a person does it with malicious motivation.and chances are i could find other sources saying the same thing on the subject. and in the old testament their is actually instructions on how to perform a abortion.

Birth control is an issue of adultery, abortion is an issue of sacrificing a life. Obviously, those things are illegal and immoral, but the question is if birth control and abortion really fall into those categories. Modern Christian opinions seem to lean toward yes to abortion being illegal, but birth control is not adultery, it's simply not recommended. Perhaps write to a reputable priest for details if you're very interested. I think this is something they often debate themselves.

I'm not sure if it's recommendable for you though. I mean, you were worried the books would affect your ptsd, weren't you? If that's the case then I would imagine adding sound and visuals to it wouldn't exactly make it better.

Oddly enough movies don't bother me that often ( unless they're particularly loud or torture pornish ). With books my imagination is allowed to fill in the blanks. A case of being able to imagine everything as worse than it actually is I guess?

Before the therapy and medication I would take any mundane scenario and obsessively worry out every worst possible outcome for it. It was compulsive and there was little I could do to stop or otherwise derail the thoughts. So books actually kind of became worse than visuals because it gave such thoughts a lot more leeway.

I haven't actually taken another swing at reading since I was at my lowest point. Could give it a try again if I spot the book and see how it shakes out now.

Sorry, that was probably more psychological introspection than you were expecting. -.-

Interesting, and yeah, I'd recommend trying to get back into reading if your therapist (if you even have one, that is) is confident you can do it relatively trouble free seeing as reading is awesome. I would recommend stuff to you, as I am kind of known to do zealously, but most of the non-comic/manga books I read are pretty heavily filled with violence and/or war elements, so that may not be the best place to start.

I'm not sure, but I think Catholics are the only (modern)Christians had issues with contraceptives, and I think the fake pope has already declared birth control use to be ok recently.

I went to college with a man from Lebanon. He told me his parents that moved to Canada with him pretty much hated canadians for the way women are dressed here in summer. He told me that his country can be very dangerous if you are not a Muslim.

Also, my father has visited most countries in the world and one of the few he hasn't been to is Lebanon. When I asked him about it he said that it was a country that he would rather not go to anyways. Because of how dangerous it would be for him.

I don't you know much about Lebanon at all. Not 100% sure why you would defend something you know nothing about. Unless you're lying and trying to make people believe you. Especially since you're just trying to dismiss everything people say against Islam.

And as for the conflict in Syria, Erdogan is mainly responsible for the trouble in that country. I was talking with a Syrian/Canadian just yesterday about what was happening in his home country and how his family were doing. He tells me that without a doubt it is Erdogan who is responsible for bringing Turks to create the conflict in his home country and he hates the man beyond words.

You should stop believing and regurgitating obvious lies you hear from people on the internet.
It makes you hard to respect.

You should quote the post you are talking about. Without the quote people have no idea what post you are referring to.

I use to be a voracious reader prior to the Break(tm) but these days its difficult to focus / concentrate solely on one thing so reading in general is tricky. The Interwebs I can do, but its because my attention is usually randomly flicking between 7-8 tabs of any given moment. So I'm not actually focused on any single topic.

Though focusing solely on the General forum of CR would likely do more harm than good even to the most psychologically stalwart. -.-

I know people like that who use ebooks. They get to consume the entire GoT series only with their ears. Think of all the masturbating they get done.

Check with the Catholics. They have written about this quite extensively. They're not the only denomination with problems with birth control but they are the largest ( as in, the actual largest denomination of Christianity in the world ).

Also, might want to read the rest of Corinthians. Paul is a misogynistic arsehole. >.>

Wow, I didn't know that was happening in France. That's kind of scary. I might not want to go to a Cafe, but if I wanted to here it would be by my choice, not because I was discouraged not to with extreme prejudice. Public spaces should not be segregated, ever. Everyone should be welcome.
