I really enjoyed Flying Witch: http://www.crunchyroll.com/flying-witch, NEW GAME!: http://www.crunchyroll.com/new-game, and FLIP FLAPPERS: http://www.crunchyroll.com/flip-flappers this year. I enjoyed many others, but these are the ones I feel didn't get much love.

Flying Witch is just a nice relaxing anime to watch.
NEW GAME! felt almost like SHIROBAKO but for the gaming industry (hope to see a season 2 for both of them).
FLIP FLAPPERS I went into it thinking it would be some slice of life but it took me for a different ride.

Drifters was basically a heavy metal album cover somehow extended into a 12 episode series.

The constant tone shifts in the first season probably didn't help either. I know I was a little disappointed when these comic relief characters (not that I have anything against Epizo) showed up immediately after Shizuru's badass fight and the battle against that headless Buranki. The season still ended on a high note though and the second season did a good job at maintaining its balance between comedy and serious moments. They actually got me to feel sorry for a certain Russian jerk. Overall it was a fun a show that too many people overlooked.

Hmm, yeah. I mean it was alright but it was all over the place tone wise and the style of CGI didn't feel like it matched the tone of the story from time to time either. The more "teams" it introduced the worse it got as it stuffed the show full of more supporting characters. Many of whom were comic relief or one note novelties.

Having Reoko removed as the main villain for season 2 really took the bite out of the show too, honesty.

Nobody watched Qualidea Code but I had a blast with it. RELife was another to go under too many radars for my liking despite being on CR, Funimation and even CR Manga.

Flip Flappers turned out to be way better than I expected. Also Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu needs more love.

I really enjoyed Alderamin on the Sky and would have liked to have seen it continue, but that's quite unlikely given the lukewarm reception.

Bakuon and The Lost Village, laughed my ass off to both of them.

Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou and Oshiete! Galko-chan offered surprising heart and depth for weird comedy shorts.

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju was obviously very critically acclaimed, but the small viewership makes it deserving of mention. Check out this amazing drama! The second season begins airing in a day or two.

"Planetarian", by far the best anime of 2016.

Of course, not on CR, need to go to FUNimation for that. Also saw the movie that had a limited release while I was in (Chiba City) Japan this past summer.

Meh, me user icon probably says it all. In either case...

You're joking, right? on MAL it has over 376,794 members with it on their lists. It's also ranked #58 and popularity #64 on the site too. That's not "underrated".

QC would have been better, if it had actually been handled by a studio that seemed to care. the story and characters were there and were entertaining, but the animation was shit tier. while I DID enjoy it, I do have to be honest and say, if it were done properly, I would have enjoyed it MUCH more.

Alderamin was a pleasant surprise, for me. didn't know what to expect going in, but I very much enjoyed it. very unconventional protagonist made for an interesting experience.

91 Days would probably take the list, as well as Drifters
