Agreed with this

GG, CKD. Not exactly what I meant when I said "their environment", but I see what you mean. I meant that I wish more characters would utilize their environment dynamically. Imagine a fight scene where the characters would move through the environment and use a variety of things in their surroundings, instead of just relying on one or two things and fighting the same way throughout the fight.

Cant think of any really good examples. Anime with a lot shooting generally demonstrate good usage of the environment, but they mainly rely on shooting.

Trigun has some creative use of the environment. Vash's avoidance of killing people results in some creative shooting and use of the environment.

Can't think of an anime equivalent of MacGyver, though.

lol I absolutely love Jojo. Some of the smartest --- albeit wacky as hell --- battles in all of anime. Need to pick up the manga at some point.

Even with all of its greatness, however, I wouldn't really put Jojo in the category of "dynamic battles". Smart, yeah, but I also mean smoothly animated without the reliance of a third party to describe what's happening in the fight.

I'd love to watch an anime character use something similar to chakrams. I don't think I've ever seen a character use something similar to that in an anime before, or maybe I'm just forgetting about somebody. Point is, chakrams are cool weapons that are not used frequently.

Hmmm. A decent example is Jin from Samurai Champloo:

He runs around, uses his feet, but also tries to utilize his environment. I want to see the same principle pushed to its limits.

These kind too.

I think Gurren Lagan covers all the drills needed in anime for at least 5 more years.

Would be nice to see protagonists that wield fishing rods. I'm looking at you Togashi.

I would also like to see more protagonists use guns; particularly sniper rifles.
