This show is/was too dramatic for me to care. I have enough IRL problems to deal with; lest alone yet another indeceive Japanese male's tribulations.

NOTE TO THE PEOPLES OF JAPAN: L2P

All that needs to be said on this one.....

B4 u get started; 1966 is "unlucky year in Japanese Zodiac".

Episode 2

So it all started with Sho lending Hikari his tracksuit to give her something dry to wear after getting soaked in the rain, and that's when things went forward as even long after she dried out, she's still wearing it. That was a rather interesting development there and seeing Hikari treating it like some prized possession of her's. Sho got a meal cooked by her and all seems to be going well for him.

Why do I get the distinct feeling they'll end this on a "they all got away so I'm growing old dying alone" romance anime.

Because you haven't watched Amagami. If you did you would know that each girl will most likely have a very conclusive ending.

You're right. I never actually watched Amagami. Thanks for suggesting it, I'll give it a try.

Episode 3

Hikari sure does crazy stuff, too much for Sho to handle. So they end up going to the men's bath together past student hours, and this was just a bad idea from the start. But at least Sho was able to keep the teacher from finding Hikari, so at least Sho managed to escape this bad situation. It turns out that Hikari had been secretly working, and she was ratted out. So summer school is over, and Sho doesn't exactly have his head on straight there, and it will be interesting to see what he does after all this. Hikari sure doesn't hold back, but now things have changed in a big way.

Episode 4

In the end, things just didn't work out between Shoichi and Hikari, at least for their short-term prospects as their career paths made it impossible to keep up their relationship. Shoichi is going to college, while Hikari is traveling to learn how to cook and become a great housewife. But they helped each other out there, and that scene at the beach really got those two to fully understand each other. So in the end, those two were just friends who didn't exactly talk with each other much after that, but they did find each other again. So that puts a wrap on the Hikari route, and Toru is next.

I didn't mind the ending to this arc. While its usually not that realistic for people in high school to be mature enough to overcome their hormones, it was sort of a breath of fresh air to see. Also, considering, most of the arc wasn't really all that romantic, it makes much more sense then suddenly slamming the two together in the last episode.

I don't know if i can keep watching this lol. It's not that I dislike the anime and the girls are great! It's just that I get so second hand embarrassed that I've watched these 4 episodes with either my face in contact with my desk, or whilst peeking through my hands

maybe it's the memories i've sealed of when i was a little cringeworthy middle schooler trying to resurface haha...kill me..

So what I found out is that this series is anime original, and was actually proposed/created by Amagami's head character designer who has no real experience with professionally scenario writing. It also hit me that the events in Tsuneki's arc parallel those from the Nishino portion of Ichigo 100% quite closely (getting closer together on a trip, cooking for the MC, being suspected of dating an older man at work, going to another country to study food). The difference is though that Nishino was manga long development where the romance and relationship developed over 4 years of in-universe time that allowed people to enjoy the relationship.

Tsuneki was more, she flirts with him for 3 episodes, she friendzones him on the 4th, he accepts it because he has no balls.

The Japanese reaction to the Tsuneki arc was really bad, (especially because this is somewhat a sequel to Amagami) and if they don't get at least one of the next 2 girls right, there definitely won't be a second season to show the other 3 girls planned.

This story probably would be fine if this was a manga like Fuuka or Domestic na Kanojo, but considering this is a sequel to Amagami which was a highly appraised dating sim, and this is using the same structure, this really won't sell to the target audience.
