I got the feeling after fives years he was still chasing her a bit ( working in the same shop she was and doing a similar course in the line of work she does). I think thius is bad because she didnt really seem to see him the same way he saw her. She appreciated the help he gave her dont get me wrong but I still think it was only her still messing with him somewhat. I say this in the sense she didnt want to go out with him (granted she had a dream she wanted to pursue but still they had a year of school left) and he even stated they exchanged numbers but she never text him( wouldnt do that if you truely liked someone). My own view of things dont eat me alive lol.

There was a lot left to interpretation, but it did feel very friend-zone like to me too. Tsuneki doesn't feel like one to settle down though, which is kind of why I would have been happier if it ended with the main character just moving on, finding another girl, and letting that be his first failed romance.

They might do a second season where they expanded each girl's arc.

I totally agree. Friend zoned seems better than what he had though. I mean she never even texted him. Just feels like he never moved on from that day and she went about her life. Hope she isnt the girl he ends up with at the end of this. She seemed a bit snobby towards him. Or thats the impression I get from the ending.

Ah don't worry about that. That's not the way this series and it's predecessor work.

Basically Tsuneki got 4 episodes and that's it. Episode 5 will be like Tsuneki never happened and will basically explore the possibility of if the main character interacted with another girl. The next girl seems to be a 3rd year and his sister's friend.

I'd like the idea of that. I hope when he mentioned he had a secret reason to become a dietitian it wasnt for her and he was refering to another girl. Otherwise he didnt really move on.

Those first few minutes just sounded so weird with little to no context.

At least the new girl looks like she'll be more interesting than Tsuneki.

Somehow think this girl is better. I never like or hated the previous girl since those the way she acted a lot was bit much for me in a way that she's mind if a flirt then other girls. Just my thoughts.

Well the problem is that this series is supposed to be a happy dating sim style anime. A girl who flirts with the MC, lies to him and gets him to help her so she can go on a trip to pick up other guys, who doesn't get pissed off at her friend for basically selling her out, who basically decides to ignore the MC for the remainder of highschool... christ there is just too much to list. She was filled with the type of drama that causes people to play dating sims like Amagami because they want to avoid that type of girl IRL.

Needless to say, you can like her or dislike her, but she is a huge painful part of reality in what is supposed to be escapism.

Guess could say they just decided to get her out of the way or something. Best I can think up now.

Man, just no flow or energy. It just feels flat compared to Amagami. Dunno why, though. Rewatch of Amagami might show the same.

if you look at the phrasing of the plot summary for this show, it is supposed to "depict his (the MCs) pure relationship with three different heroines. Each story is the unique and mutual memory between him and the heroine."

From what we saw with the first Heroine, I can't help but think that when they aren't specifically targeting romance as their "mutual memory". This new girl has potential, but who knows, they could easily end up making her just his gaming buddy or something silly like that for the rest of the arc.

Honestly, if this ends up something like the previous arc... they will have an extremely hard time selling the blu-rays. This is an original anime too, so there are no LNs, Mangas, or Games to advertise. Meaning, if this anime is a failure... the entire project is a failure. Also considering that this is a sequel to Amagami, they should know their target audience, and Tsuneki's arc was for the most part missing what the target audience would enjoy.

+ @beltensro

It's interesting because I just watched Amagami SS and SS+ last week. I originally watched the first 4 episodes in 2010 and dropped it as I was shocked by the omnibus format where it wasn't about Haruka in episode 5 but since Seiren piqued my interest I marathoned all 39 episodes over a couple of days last week. This time I really enjoyed Amagami SS and SS+! A few of them worked better in the SS version (e.g. Kaoru was almost ruined by her SS+ arc) while others were much better in SS+ (e.g. Rihoko finally got her moment). I really, really enjoyed it this time around.

Seiren really does feel off or flat by comparison. Aside from the blushing overdrive, it is just really flat. Tsuneki wasn't bad until the friendzone ending and gamer girl is kind of fun but it just doesn't have the same sort of impact that Amagami SS had. Amagami SS is definitely worth a rewatch if you haven't see it in a while, as is Yosuga no Sora if you want an H version of the same omnibus format.

I thought they were making a Seiren game so this would be a sort of ad or preview for it but now I can't find any evidence of this so I'm not sure. By the pre-sales, Seiren isn't going to sell many discs but that's true for most shows this season (only Konosuba and Tanya the Evil appear to have any chance of selling a decent number of discs).
