when was the last time you pulled up your credit report + score?

it's already creepy having some companies keeping your personal information without your consent.. they will also charge you a small fee to access those information

well.. thanks to a law way back..

https://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/get-my-free-credit-report

consumers are entitled to 1 free credit report a year (each from the big 3 credit reporting agencies)

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action

some credit cards will provide free fico score as one of the benefits of having the card..

so when was the last time you check your credit report+ score?

I'll check mind every 6 months or so.. since who knows what with all the hacking and identity theft going on on a regular basis.. just want to make sure no one applied for a loan or opened a credit card in my name..

My wife checks hers infrequently. Me, I don't care.

No, no point checking FICO score. The last time wife and I visited a financial institution for a large loan none of our high scores mattered to them. They had their own demeaning metric: harder, equally ridiculous & spurious. Dave Ramsey doesn't endorse these scores very heavily either.

I know I've paid for a credit report as part of apartment applications, but never again. Partly because I have a house now and don't need to worry about apartment applications anymore.

But also, if you do go to an apartment for a lease, they have to give you that report you pay for. And should take an official one from others as well. If they don't, they're probably going to scam you in some other way as well, so probably don't want to live there.

I've never checked my credit score.

I know I have a great credit score. How would I know? Hmm I don't know, maybe it has something to do with using your credit card frequently and paying it off As Soon As Possible.

It's the craziest thing. Like don't be surprised when you want cable, or renting a house/ buying a house, or buying a car, even Internet, they will do a credit check.

I just use my credit card all the time, no doubt my credit score is just breaking that 800 mark.

Do I need to be told my credit score? Hell no, I'm responsible enough to know I have great credit, and I should walk into any situation with confidence

I check mine about once a month. I use a combination of Credit Karma (the score isn't very accurate but it's good for seeing my account history), and free credit scores from credit cards

I got mine through my bank, it was free.

The only other time I got one was when I financed by car and they had to run a credit check and I saw my credit score on the paperwork.
