Winter is shaping up to be a weak season, and generally speaking winters have been the weakest season of the year. Last year was pretty good for a winter season, while 2014 also ended up being a pretty good season. But 2013 and 2015 were absolutely crap. Anyway, the spring season is going to be pretty loaded as that there are the sequels for Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia, and not to mention P.A. Works is going to have two shows, while there's also Blood Blockade Battlefront and Saekano sequels, plus spinoffs for Danmachi and Rage of Bahamut. Change the title of the thread to 2017 Spring, and now we're talking.

Gonna have to disagree here.

Winter 2015 had Death Parade, Virgin Witch Maria, Yurikuma Arashi, Jojo, Durarara (granted the first third was the weakest part of S2) and strong Fall leftovers such as Garo, Your Lie in April, Shirobako, Yona of the Dawn.

If anything Winter 2015 was miraculous by winter season standards. Heck, I'd argue it was the best season of that year.

I beg to differ. Winter had some shows I'm really looking forward to; I've been hyped for this season for a while seeing how last season was a big disappointment.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2
Masamune-kun no Revenge
Gabriel DropOut

They're all pretty hype shows I'm looking forwards to, and there's plenty of other shows I didn't mention that are good as well. There's always shows that surpass expectations that you didn't see at first.

Strongly looking forward to Konosuba 2 and Little Witch Academia (of course, not on CR, boo)

I don't know how I'm going to feel about Tanya the Evil but I'm watching it since it ticks enough of my boxes.

Yea, me been hearing bunch of stuff about it. Apparently a Netflix-controlled property; some crowdfunding effort as well. Other then that, I don't know much/why people like it, of course.....

I'm not a super fan, but it's cute and fun with a whimsical sense of humor in the art style and content.

I see. Well, if it ever makes the escape off the Vile Netflix, I will give it a gander....

UPDATE: Had chance to clear through some of the list. Not quite as strong as I once thought (sure lot of romance titles, as reported; and some short stories), but no worries. Plenty of diversity for a variety of interests, as reported.

Still looking okay though, with Tier1-2 at least. And the best has yet to come, in theory.

I'm actually a bit underwhelmed by this season. Many of the shows seem to be carry-overs from the last season or the season before with much of the list being taken up by long running series (or kiddie series like Naruto. Does anyone still watch Naruto Shippufiller?) The ones that aren't carry over's have failed to excite me yet. I'll watch some though. Who knows, I wasn't expecting Flip Flappers or Drifters last season and those two were my favorites, especially Flip Flappers so maybe I'll be surprised?

Yea winter is quite good, it's at least on the same level as fall so far.

The 3 new biggest and most interesting show are

Tales of Zestiria the X
Blue Exorcist
élDLIVE

And of course we are continuing the awesome Gundam Iron blooded Orphans and Twin star exorcist.

Will see what else will catch my attention, but from a first look those 5 are the only strong ones.

The true season everybody should hope for is spring tho! After all that's when the AOTY 2017 will air! My Hero Academia season 2 HYPE!
