You know when folks ask "What is your most anticipated show this season?" I never have an answer. I don't anticipate. I watch what's offered and then decide what I like. I'm sometimes looking forward to the subsequent seasons of shows I like, but it's never more than "looking forward to."

But this? Is my most anticipated show this season. It is something I was very happy to know was coming and that I'm eagerly looking forward to.

And now the story continues wih a greeting from Yotaro. Quite a good way to bring everybody back.

Episode 1

Yotaro's story is told, now known as Sukeroku III, and Komatsu's baby is his designated successor. It's great to be back with this show as the rakugo is amazing from these veteran seiyuus and the story is full of intrie considering that Yotaro got in a ton of trouble when he was first introduced before getting to the main story. Tough times sure are ahead.

It's finally back and with a Rakugo recap .

This episode made me laugh more than I expected and felt surprisingly positiv which can only mean that next episode will be a little bit more emotional. Yotaro's voice actor is very enthusiastic which makes his Rakugo funny but it's rather unusual off stage but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Episode 1

Now this is the shit I was waiting for!

Glad to have DEEN back at it again with Rakugo. I know Konosuba will be later, but right now, we have another enchanting drama that is Rakugo season 2.

With it being focused on Yotaro, I wonder what will happen to him, his Rakugo, and the people who surround him? This'll be good!

I think I'm going to need to let this one settle in with me a bit. I absolutely adored the first season but a large part of that was due to the cast of characters. Put simply, I don't like Yotaro anywhere near as much as I like pretty much everyone else in the show, both in the past and in the present. While Yotaro was certainly less annoying here than he had been before he was still not the character I want to be watching and a series ostensibly focusing on him is just intrinsically less interesting to me. The next episode preview looks very promising though.

That was good.
Like that Yotaro might be working on new stories with that writer. It'll be interesting to see the him and Kiku pulling rakugo in different directions, especially with the explicit shinigami comparison.

Prior to watching this episode, I was giddy as a kid on a theme park. Only one other (ongoing) series has that effect on me. After finishing the episode, I was delighted! Voice acting, animation, direction, music and many other elements harmonized in this episode.

The Rakugo first season recap was unconventionally captivating. Yotaro's impression of Kikuhiko was on point; particularly when he sharpened his eyes and showed us Yakumo's glare. Speaking of eyes, I am intrigued when we saw close ups of Yotaro's eyes. I wished I could find gifs, but those eyes hinted that Yotaru had more to say but refrained in numerous occasions. Us viewers will probably keep referring to him as Yotaro since Sukeroku would be confusing.

10 years have passed? Kikuhiko's has aged even more, while Matsuda seems chipper as ever. Seems like Yotaru and Konatsu have been living together, and maybe getting married in the near future? I wonder what she named the baby. I don't quite recall his name, but I'm having ominous vibes from the writer Yotaro met. His and Yotaro's alliance will likely produce some conflict with Kikuhiko.

So glad Rakugo Fridays are back!

Good to see it back. Not much to say yet. Looking forward to see what Yotaro does with his rakugo.

Ahh Yotaro. Gotta say I missed the guy. It's great that he finally gets more spotlight and that he's doing well in the world of Rakugo

I'm so glad this show is back to Yotaro's time. Kikuhiko's past arc was really good but also depressing and it made me hate all of the main characters. I think I need to go back and at least rewatch the first episode and the Yotaro part of the last episode though. I'm having trouble remembering everyone. Looking forward to all of the wonderful rakugo this season.

Ep 1

Rakugo was easily my favorite show of 2016, so naturally I was excited to start the new season. This episode was quite enjoyable. Yotaro has big shoes to fill, now that he has inherited the Sukeroku name, but I believe that his rakugo is incredibly similar to Bon's. That comparison of Kiku to a shinigami was pretty powerful. He even admitted at the end that he would rather rakugo die with him than see it sullied.

It was nice to see the other characters as well. I don't think the audience is supposed to know the father of Konatsu's child yet, right? Oh, and Matsuda is still alive which makes me happy. Great way to begin the show.

I was kinda worried the "present timeline" stuff wouldn't be as good, but they really are doing a good job with the story (so far).
