This was a beautiful episode and I love how Yotaru's style of rakugo played into his ability to perform as pointed out by Higuchi.

And I cannot wait for the next episode with video recording of Sukeroku's and Yakumo's performances.

Yakumo manages to survive for at least another week. The OP is also back to normal.

The trademark of a true performer ---- no matter how bad the occurrences from behind the curtain, no matter how frayed your nerves had been and what your personal feelings may be, the show must go on. You face your audience with a grin, as if nothing's gone wrong.

In Yotaro's case, where the situation was grave, he did very splendidly. To execute the lines without flubbing/choking, nor does his eyes show any signs of distraught until the very end. Moreso, his tale reeled me in. Yup........ the man has finally found his own rakugo without even realizing.

As for Kikuhiko, real glad he's back, but his feebleness is a sad reminder that he's living through with what's left of his days. Seeing his life from his youth to this present point, just makes the inevitable a hard pill to swallow.

It's when Yotaro completely forgets himself because he's preoccupied with his master's emergency that his art comes through. This show is neat.

Oh man next episode has me hyped.

I never expected to get to see another performance from Sukeroku, even if said performance is in the form of old film.

Also next episode preview showed.....

Haven't let go, then...

Everyone's worried sick over Yakumo's health, but he himself was disheartened with his survival. Kikuhiko still has things to witness before passing. Konatsu has come full circle. Early in the series, she wanted Kikuhiko dead. Now, she desperately yearns for him to live.

Yotaro and the venue owners conversed about the aged venue and earthquakes. There were definite parallels between Yakumo and the venue; how the old building (Yakumo's aged body) could be quickly destroyed by an earthquake (heart attack). Though he's a minor character, his passion for rakugo and tradition really shone through. He realizes that the venue needs to change, but, due to sentimentality, he prefers to keep it the same. Yes, its a logically foolish decision but the reasons are clear. The venue will eventually change, but it will be after his time.

My respect for Yotaro just keeps soaring. Under such a dire circumstance, he continued the show. The Yakumo death glare and murmur of the audience kept him there. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for him. In the face of adversity, his rakugo flourished. Perhaps rakugo also provided him with a slight reprieve from that stress. At the start of the performance, I was nervous with the Yakumo incident. However, I calmed down and started to actually chuckle as Yotaro's Inokori went on. I adore what this show does to my emotions.

Episode 7

While Yakumo continues to be hospitalized with his rakugo career just about over, Yotaro goes to the place Sukeroku and Miyokichi died and watch a performance that Yakumo and Sukeroku gave at that place. Pretty much, it's a trip down memory lane where Yotaro gets to learn more about his idol as it's the anniversary of their deaths. And what happened after those two fell to their deaths is played out as that first fall didn't kill them, but they fell again and drowned to their deaths. That left quite an emotional scar on Komatsu. Anyway, that was a nice way to fill the gap as after those two fell off, in came the time skip.

Not sure if it would be best if Konatsu knew what happened. It would probably add more trauma... Although now I want to know what led to Miyokichi stabbing Sukeroku.

3 things ----

••• The environment in that park bench scene was breathtaking.

••• A nice, nostalgic feeling to see those places we've come to know from Season 1.

••• And lastly, my heart was torn asunder at the actual truth behind Miyokichi and Sukeroku's death.
It made it all the more painful seein' how Kikuhiko's been blaming himself all these years.

That whole scene, the way it looked the conversation, the sentiments expressed ... so moving.

Really enjoy the voice acting in this anime , lots of veteran or senpai seiyuu I respect.
Happy that Tomokazu Seki landed a role in this one I would really love to watch him do live Rakugo .
This one could really work well as a live drama

Miyokichi was still lusting for Kiku and wanted Sukeroku out the picture cause he just reminds her of the responsibilities she has as a mother, if I remember correctly. It probably happened on impulse cause it shows her immediate regret after.

Again I'm just speculating
