What if all the Straw Hat pirates had devil fruits? I know it isn't likely Franky Came out and said he doesn't want to lose the ability to swim in Dressrosa Sanji said the same thing at thriller Bark, But still It would still be awesome like Usopp getting something like a grass-grass fruit where he can control plants with his mind Nami getting the Rumble-rumble fruit Franky geting some king of Zoan type to turn him into a bear or something zoro and Sanji getting something equally as awesome, I'm open to suggestions. I don't know I just thought that would be really cool, and I wanted to see if anybody agreed with me or not, and of course Luffy would still be the strongest he is still the main character.

P.s. Sorry for the crappy Grammar if there is any.

I'm pretty sure we've had a thread like this before. I'll have to find it, if it still exists.

Like I said in that thread, I'm not for the idea of having all of the Straw Hats being devil fruit users because it cheapens the novelty of devil fruits and the characters themselves (or it really doesn't add anything to their characters).

It's not practical for the entire Straw Hat crew to have devil fruit powers. It's not practical for any pirate crew to be completely composed of devil fruit eaters, really. They'd have access to a wider array of incredible powers than anyone else out there, sure, but then no one among them could swim and rescue the rest in the event that the ship should sink, the navy should show up with sea prism stone, or a host of other horrible things that could happen to a crew of nothing but devil fruit eaters.

Besides, the thing that makes characters like Nami and Usopp interesting is that they don't have super powers like Luffy does, but nevertheless still manage to remain useful. Nami catches a lot of crap for being "useless" because she doesn't frequently contribute much during action scenes, but her thorough understanding of navigation and meteorology gives a practical, essential explanation for how the Straw Hats haven't ultimately gotten lost at sea, run out of supplies, and died of either starvation or scurvy while desperately seeking a port or island (if a storm system didn't get them first). Her cleverness at filching money from unwitting marks and careful attention to the crew's ledger is an important part of why they're always able to buy the things they need and can't just find at sea or take from fallen enemies/grateful peasants. And if someone really wants an intelligent character who also has super powers, like just has to have one, then they've got Robin. Oda covered his bases.

I like that some Straw Hats use their own personalized weapons rather than having devil fruit powers.
It's another creative way to show how a character can still be strong and useful without magical powers.

@blueoni
Sorry if this is wrong i'm not completely caught up but isn't kaido going for the all devil fruit users with the man made devil fruits?

Also I'm aware it's not practical I just thought it would be an interesting thing to think about.

Isn't Sanji like the designated "devil fruit" saver at this point? He's always jumping in water to save them.

Devil Fruit eaters can't swim. And they're pirates. So they'd die. How many times have one of the non-users had to fish one of the useless devil fruiters out of the ocean already?
