In my opinion, one ignorant of this series existence prior to its drop on McCrunchy, I really enjoyed 2 unique aspects, 1) The "drop in" point of the story, and 2) The "next level", jaw dropping action sequences.

To not be a blowhard but still a desire to share, i will keep it short. 1) Refers to dropping us into the story at what feels should be the end of season 1, and also how wel epsiodes 1-4 compensate for the lack of a previous season by keeping the story somewhat cliche as it builds in complexity.

2) is pretty self explanatory, those who animated these action sequences deserve more then a pat on the back, and i would hire them to animate my anime if i had one, or if i had a production studio. There are many other fine examples out there, fo sho, but the..."eye"?...of this animation team is top notch, Bravo

I will now end my rant, thank you for reading if you did, and if you didnt, then you wont see this part of the message anyway, but have a nice day anyway

Just to let you know there is a series of Chain Chronicle OVAs prior to this that are a very quick recap of the beginning of the game onward. The game was an android/ios app that worked on an energy system as far as I can tell and I checked a few videos of people playing it but character introductions were very quick and shallow... meaning that all these aesthetically well designed characters really do have the depth of a sheet of paper.

Sorry my disappointment triggered you, but there's nothing dishonest about it. Reading the announcement might have saved me a little time, but wouldn't have changed my opinion.

Give it rest; it's pretty obvious that you never had any intention of honestly discussing Chain Chronicle. You're just looking for an excuse to attack Chain Chronicle and you found it by blatantly ignoring Chunchyroll's own announcements. Of course, I'm sure that if you ever come up with another ill-conceived complaint you'll be back to cause more needless drama.

I was genuinely curious about how the show wold be, and the result was pretty disappointing. Meanwhile, you've done nothing in this thread but bitch about my first post. Needless drama indeed.

I doubt you've ever made a genuine post in any Chain Chronicle thread. You could have chosen to admit your 'mistake', after being informed that Crunchyroll planned it this way all along. However, instead you've clung to this farcical complaint like a bad joke.

You're free to doubt I'm making genuine posts, I'm free to view your posts as whiteknighting for the sake of whiteknighting. Again, reading the announcement wouldn't have changed my opinion, just saved me some time. Feel free to continue doubting the genuineness of my posts, I'm done contributing to what's turned into an obnoxious off-topic in this discussion thread.

It doesn't require much in the way of heroics to point out that you should have read the announcements; it would've saved a lot of trouble. Not that I’m inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt, when the apparent venom of your complaint is well beyond necessary. Still, I expect you will return to this thread with more complaints once new episodes of Chain Chronicle air.

So there's advertisements that say 'hey, if you liked the movie re-watch it on the tv version'? That's really sad.

*And no, them coming out and saying 'We're ready to milk this muther f'er dry' doesn't nullify squat.

Stop trying to create needless drama all because you never bothered to read Crunchyroll's announcements when they revealed the simulcast of Chain Chronicle. The only person left in the lurch here is you.

Uhm, sorry I am gonna have to agree with the dissenters here. I was under impression as well this is/was a new title.... The CR/FUNimation descriptions indicate "new episodes every week" starting 1/7 supposedly (or not). And that is post 4 episode intro, whatever that is

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-976411/winter-2017-simulcasts

Are you ready for our first big announcement for the winter simulcasts?? This time, we're going to share the great news with our friend Funimation here.

Starting from tomorrow Friday 12/16, 11:00am PST, we'll be launching the theatrical version for the first four episodes of Chain Chronicle - The Light of Haecceitas -!! The series will be available for premium users worldwide excluding Asia. We'll upload four new episodes every month.

Starting from Saturday 1/7, the TV broadcast version of Chain Chronicle will be available for both free and premium users worldwide excluding Asia, followed by one new episode per week. Launch times will be announced at a later date.

We are also super excited to announce that our friends at Funimation will be producing and streaming the simuldub for Chain Chronicle, so be sure to check out their site for more details, and check out the English dubbed version!

In either case, after briefly looking at it, gonna have to pass. These JPRG style titles are either home runs, or strikeouts...

No offense but you're just embarrassing yourself by trying to legitimise qwueri's absurd complaint. Crunchyroll's announcements about Chain Chronicle were quite clear, explaining that it's the same show in two slightly different versions, one for theatrical release and one for broadcast. The fact that you missed this key information reveals either a lack of attention or malice on your part.

Or, it means I am a (CR) noob.

I linked the above quote of their release above. If u want I can site the FUNimation version as well, perhaps more confusing. From my perhaps "misinformed opinion", I assume new content. Even if it follows the movie, I assume it be redone; to continue the logic.

I don't know what "theatrical broadcast release" even means. In either case, Kintor, although it may make perfect sense to you as one whom is familiar with the show; to someone who has no idea WTF Chain Chronicles is, in an leadoff announcement on CR/FUNI websites both introducing the upcoming Winter 2017 season, one would think they are talking about new stuff.

But no matter.... Time to go eat some Mexican chips/Salsa I just happen to have here today as food; in tribute to your Aztec whatever god thing u have as profile, it is so...

Very well, I will accept that you're relatively new to this site and might not be familiar with all the terminology. Even so, the kind of language used by Crunchyroll in their announcements is common to all entertainment and you should already be familiar with it. Theatrical = movies (since in the old days the first cinema buildings were converted from stage play theatres). Broadcast = TV (since TV signals are 'broadcast' from massive local towers).

Oh, it's not Aztec; although there might be some artistic influences. My avatar is a Death Mask worn by the Sanguinary Guard of the Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter from Warhammer 40,000:

Ahh, LoL I know what words mean in English, of course. My/99% America's idea of "Theatrical Broadcast Release" is when a movie is shown in its (minus time/content edits) original entirety on a TV network; not some cheezy remake, chopped into 4 bits with redone animation, whatever the hell it is.

Also, as they suggest in the PR release, that they will all release all-new content following/concurrently the 3 movies remake (as I come to learn on Wikipedia). But maybe just wrong again. So confusing....

Ahh, LoL yes it makes sense now. But me have yet to understand the 40K Warhammer stuff, only "Karl Franz Age" stuff, like Total War/WAROnline game. But no matter...

It's not in the slightest confusing, you're just making things more complicated then they need to be. Take a look at Chain Chronicle's page here on Crunchyroll; the videos are divided into two categories 'Movie Version' and 'TV Version'. Nice and simple.

If you want to learn more about Warhammer 40,000 a good place to start is the Vaults of Terra YouTube channel:
