Heir of an old famous family of exorcist, Keika You is stricken by poverty after losing his parents. He struggles as a street fortune teller and computer recovery part timer to earn money. One night in a junkyard, he meets the mysterious yet charismatic exorcist, Ki Tanmoku, fighting an evil spirit. This encounter is the beginning of a fated story for Keika You. Unfortunately for him, he was actually hit by a car and became a ghost. That was when the handsome exorcist Ki appeared and asked Keika to make a "pact" with him to fight evil spirits together. Here starts the friendship of our heroes!

There, I have a thread now to be Siiiiiiiiiiick. He is a designated bottom.

They gave up on animation a lot of times through episode 1, an insult to anime it self.

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would so far. The humour was on point and the concept was fun. It just doesn't look very good most of the time. Last season's Bloodivores made it look like Haoliners was a studio to avoid and this show, at least visually, isn't doing anything to change that impression.

I watched outcast for 4 eps, boodivores all 12 (just to get a non ending), this I couldn't last even 3 minutes...Why do they keep doing these joint productions? Do they even make some money out of them?

Don't forget Hitorinoshita from Summer which was equally bad. At least my first impressions of this show are miles beyond the other two.

Episode 1

At least it isn't as bad as Bloodivores last season, but nevertheless that was just about what I would expect out of something with non-Japanese roots. At least there were a few good moments there, but in any case that was forgettable and lacking in substance.

If the humor works for you go for it, otherwise probably not much to see here.

It was kind of impressive how bad this first episode was. Seriously, I haven't encountered a main character who was so downright annoying in a long time and the rapid fire delivery of his badly written lines was almost physically uncomfortable to sit through.

Oh this is the same studio that did Hitorinoshita and Bloodivores? Well don't even need to try this one...

I was thinking about starting this thread. Then I watched the show and... I thought maybe I shouldn't start the thread if I didn't like the show. I am pleased that others do not have the same silly qualms.

So,

1) Premise... not very original but it could still be entertaining once again as it so often is, if executed correctly.
2) Comedy... It tries hard and ends up looking stupid and spastic.
3) Animation... When it happens, it's often spastic. But I don't generally mind animation that is minimal as long as it's keeping my interest without it.
4) Pacing and such... I can't put my finger on it, but it mostly seemed kind of messy and not well-cfrafted or directed. Everything seemed clunky and not very well written or put together (I watched it right after Akiba's Trip, which was super well done in this regard, I thought, so this really, really suffered by comparison)
5) Guys making pacts with rings -- it's been done better

That said, I will watch again. It might be good enough to pass the time, and it's possible it will calm down a bit and won't look so much like constant flailing toward cliched but not necessarily unenjoyable story.

ETA: Reading other posts now. Ah, I actually liked Hitorinoshita all the way through. Bloodivores pretty much kept stumbling, but I did at least like the characters and made it through to the end, where the story that seemed to be going nowhere did indeed end up not anywhere.

This was like something from the 80s animation and storywise.

You would think after two seasons of bad Chinese-produced anime that the community has mostly negatively criticized CR would get some kind of hint that they should spend licensing money elsewhere but I guess not.

CR if you read this, I love and appreciate what y'all do and I understand that you guys are living up to the "one-stop shop" motto but there are certain shows that you shouldn't waste your budget on (I'll give y'all a hint, shows like these.)

MAL can't even let me give this a 0/10 which is a shame. Maybe I'm just being insanely critical but Hitori no Shita and Bloodivores were an insult to me.

One final thing, I was hoping the image of this forum would be an amateurish MS paint job... Damn.
