At least Netflix has the movies. I guess I'll watch those in the meantime .

Does Netflix ever stream anime it gets? Or does it just wait until the final episode airs in Japan and flood everything onto their service?

Boo! I was looking forward to this, but looks like I'll also wait a few months for Netflix.

Episode 2

Great episode, I guess the OVA is not canon to this series, as they redid a couple of scenes.

We meet Diana and I am glad she is in character. She is a person that will acknowledge her mess up and not take credit she is not deserved. And some say she is arrogant, I think they are mistaking, it is her lackey that are arrogant.

And I am glad that Diana's family is a big deal, in my head canon she comes this well known family, and she has to live to up their lofty expectation. If we meet her parents I think they might the worst.

And to my surprise, not a big battle this episode, I thought be a monster of the week, but the problem was solved very quickly and rather peacefully.

And I am calling it now, the cards that Akko collected, she mentioned a missing card, I am calling it Diana has the missing card being the closet Cherrett fan that she is, yeah spoiler alert, but that was revealed in the first episode, if you don't notice those little details tough. I think that card will come into play to save the day in episode 12 or 13. You will see.

Ep. 2 was really cute. I really enjoy these VAs too. Still not sold on the animation itself. I am just not a fan of Trigger, but I am enjoying this officially.

Episode 2 seems to confirm that the series simply won't have the high energy pace of the OVAs. Which is fine, it's a pretty solid and enjoyable setup so far.

So I just came to comment here because ever since the OVAs (which I only watched fairly recently), I've had a 'theory' which was reaffirmed by the most recent episode. I thought this was quite a revolutionary theory, and was suggesting the idea to a friend, who then proceeded to point out that this is an accepted fact everyone who watched the OVAs is aware of already.

I am an idiot.

Animation style is not my favorite but story makes up for me. I like the 3 roommates has a Harry Potter feel to the show with school being like Hogwarts just no dudes

I really have to say that I'm liking how they approached Diana's character this time around in the anime. In the OVAs while she was actually in the right quite a bit, she was also incredibly haughty and much more condescending towards Akko. This time around she's shown to be much more polite and considerate. While in the OVAs she speaks ill of Shiny Chariot for not being a proper witch, this time she more politely tells Akko that she should keep her admiration a secret, since it would cause her to be looked down upon by the other witches. It's really refreshing to have a rival character that is actually a good person instead of a snobby, arrogant jerk

I was a little worried when Diana blasted Akko with magic but then I guess helped with plot and dark circles faded around her eyes? I don't know the manga but can tell Diana is a closet Shiny Chariot fan just her pure blood family makes it a conflict of beliefs

I am angst to meet Diana's family, I think her parents or at least her mom (since this show is more female cast oriented so maybe her father would be off screen and the mother will represent and she will say "Your father and I.." or "My husband and I..." many times) will be a major antagonist / foil to our heroes. I have a feeling I am going to hate them so much, and I love it, I can't wait. I already kind of don't like them, I blame them for why Diana has to be a closet Shiny Chariot fan.Who knows what they did if they found out she went to a Shiny Chariot show.

Not to mention I have been watching the latest episodes of RWBY, and have a bad taste in my mouth on what these kinds of family can be like.

Yeah, I share the same feeling. Comparing to the OVAs, I started to actually like Diana, because she doesn't have that arrogant/antagonist feeling anymore. It feels like she wants to get closer to Atsuko or just share her feelings about Shiny Chariot, which she's obviously a fan of, but being part of the "greatest" witch family makes these kind of things too difficult. To me, she came from being an absolutely obnoxious character that I hated to a character that I feel some empathy, as if she's like "suffering in silence".

Also, seeing a lot of people disliking the art/animation feels weird, as it was the main reason of why I picked up this series and now I'm in love with it. But that's just people having different opinions anyways.

I kind of hope there won't be some overarching Voldemortbig bad for the series. It has potential enough as a character/school drama.
