Non-battleground States and the Harambe Vote

For non-battle ground states, thanks in part to the winner-take all electoral voting policies, the popular vote totals are kind of irrelevant so long as the hegemonic power maintains the dominant vote. That got me thinking, what if the minority party of each non-battleground state voted for Harambe? How would the popular vote look?

So excluding the states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Maine(since main split their electoral college vote), I flipped the minority party* votes to Harambe. The popular votes looked like this:

Hillary Clinton: 46,797,867
Donal Trump: 45,577,032
Harambe: 31,321,902

Without affecting the electoral college vote at all, over 31 million voters could have voted for Harambe and their vote would have carried the same weight. With the hype over the elections dying down I apologize for bringing up yet another political thread, I just found the thought funny if so many voters voted for Harambe to show how much their vote mattered.

*I didn't count Libertarian, Greene, or other independent votes.

To be fair I think a dead Gorilla would probably be as good a leader as either of the options presented in the latest election.

Lewis Black has a routine about re-electing Ronald Reagan (as a corpse). It amuses me.

Come now - you can't possibly believe that.

Harambe is alive.

Anyone else remember when that kid who changed his legal name to Deez Nuts was polling 9% in North Carolina?
