iPhone Turns 10: How It Became a Cultural Icon
http://www.consumerreports.org/apple/iphone-turns-10-how-it-became-cultural-icon/

Samsung Galaxy S2 was $550 back then and i thought it was cut throat.. now... new phones are hitting $800-$900 mark..

anyway.. looking back.. i'm curious..

what was your first cellphone ?

it's in storage somewhere.. but this is my first phone...the family plan we got was

700 minutes anytime talk
unlimited text

that's about it..

now the same plan (same price)

unlimited talk, text and data

T-mobile data cap is 28GB for unlimited plans.. but i went over the limit a few days ago.. so sometimes it will go down to 3G while streaming..

The Infamous Nokia 3310

Had this just as I went to college in 2000. Later upgraded to the Razr (yes, another "infamous" phone). I didn't get unlimited texts until around 2003 or so - after I had changed to US Cellular at the time.

Currently on T-Mobile with Unlimited Data and 12GB Tethering.
Using an LG v20 and an iPad Pro (with 8GB of data for the tablet per month). Paying around $130 per month for it all.
I've gone over the "supposed" 22GB of unlimited 4G data quite often and haven't had any issues. Once had a month where my Google Fiber was spazzed out - so had used T-Mobile exclusively through tethering (about 900GB) and still didn't get throttled. I still use about 50GB a month even just by design (since I have to log into work no matter where I am if there's an issue that comes up).

I don't remember the exact model, but it was a Razor. I remember everyone being impressed by how thin they were.

Don't know if you can count it as first cellphone, but my or rather our first cellphone, 'cause we were both children and I had to share it with my older brother, was one with antenna. I can't remember what it was.

But my first cellphone I really had myself was a Sagem myV-55. Hah good times. I had to decide between this one and the sony ericsson (guess it was the first ericsson, dunno anymore) and took this one because the seller told me it had a better camera than the ericsson.

I have no idea what it's called

It was a Motorola one of those nine button phones, not a flip phone.. I wonder if I still have it now.
