I just use another site to view my anime since this one crashes a lot.

Thank you for writing this. This is exactly why I thought VRV was too good to be true.

I thought maybe CR and other services were realizing that if they consolidate and form a larger network of channels they'll get more subscribers so they can charge people less and still make more. Instead its not all the content, not all the features, and less viewing platforms.

I'll pass on VRV. Again thank you for saving me the time of trying it and then being upset.

I thought I'd give it a go because I thought you were able to link VRV to Crunchyroll back then, but that wasn't invented until just recently.

Overall, I'd use VRV if Crunchyroll is acting up.

Not worth it at the moment. I'm currently in a yearly subscription for both Funimation and CrunchyRoll. It would be too much of a mess to try subscribing to this at the moment without my billing going wonky.

I can't even log in on my Roku, get to @gm on my email and it stops. Have the same problem with Funimation, I'm about to cancel both and stay with CR.

I had wanted to try it because I used to have both Funimation and Crunchyroll a while back but lost Funimation due to a card error. After that, it kept telling me my cards weren't valid/real. So I stayed with Crunchyroll for quite a while. (They didn't seem to have any issues with my money. lol)

I signed up for the free 30 day trial, and literally canceled my account within an hour. First issue was after I had linked my Crunchyroll account and it took me a bit to understand the wording at the top of the Link Accounts page:

Already a paying member of one of our channels? Link your existing account to VRV and access premium-level content right here. You can also link your free account, but that won’t give you premium access.

I originally thought that meant you still had to pay for your other accounts to access the premium/paid content despite paying the $10 a month for VRV, which was extremely dumb, but I got e-mails from Crunchyroll telling me I seem to be paying for the service twice and should cancel my billing through the Crunchyroll account page to keep from being billed twice. It was kind of confusing when I read it, and until I read the e-mail from Crunchyroll, I didn't understand what was going on with VRV.

The 'dub only/no subs' thing with Funimation is also a huge turn-off for me, and the content navigation is... not very user-friendly. (I also have no real interest in the other channels, yes.)

So, my opinion is: "The concept is good, but the execution is a bit lacking at the moment." Maybe in a few months, I'll see if anything's improved, but for now, I agree with just sticking with your current Crunchyroll/Funimation accounts rather than trying to combine them. I feel that VRV; as it stands right now; really does feel like a rip-off when you're paying a bit more for what feels like a lot less; content-wise. I usually watch stuff on my computer/in-browser, so I haven't tried the VRV App on a console or my phone for opinions on other navigation, but from what everyone else has said so far, it's not that much different.

Can you watch VRV on PC yet? I use my PC to watch most things. They aren't on PS3 either so I would be stuck with just my phone. It's great when I am away from home but I don't want to be stuck with tiny phone screen as my only option.

VRV tells me that my logon is invalid and when I tried to create a new account it wouldn't let me.

I found it to be poorly executed at best. Missing que, history, lousy at being able to find things! Who thought that site was a improvement over CR? Also since they added it notice CR site drops out during heavy traffic use while VRV still remains up but non user friendly! Ouch.. you also lose the news and forums!

Do NOT use VRV. It's a giant pile of [email protected]^. First off, you are NOT getting all the content as if you were a premium member of the services like crunchy roll or funimation. Yeah.. that's right, even though it states that you get all these other channels, there is a lot of content that you don't get with VRV but would if you were just a member of those services.
They also have a lot of issues that don't seem to care to address and fix, including right off the bat that you may have signed up and paid for premium VRV services, but you aren't getting ANY of the benefits. Still have ads and can't view shows/episodes without premium membership... even though your account says you are premium, and your bank statement shows that you've paid to be a premium member.
Also, the "customer service" doesn't exist. Not only is it a pain to find where to contact them for issues, but once you do and send off a message to their support (no phone number, only messages through their site) you will not hear back from them.
Not only would I not ever recommend VRV to anyone, but because it's so god awful, I'm willing to get my source of shows from anywhere else but the companies who decided to join up with crunchy role to make this atrocious bundle pack.
Didn't have an issue with crunchyroll or funimation before getting VRV, now I will not use either. Plenty of other places to get the same shows.
Don't waste your money or time, trust me.

do you want crunchyroll and dragonball super dub plus whatever content is available. then sign up. link your crunchyroll and funimation accounts. you now can still enjoy full crunchyroll from site, which is better, and still get other good content. go team.

thats really what you're doing. its a multi subscribe service and worth the while if you use it.
