Plot Summary

The anime's story takes place in Japari Park, a "gigantic integrated zoo." In the zoo, due to the mysterious "sand star" substance, the animals start turning into human-shaped creatures called Animal Girls. Japari Park is a place where many people visit and have fun at, but one day a lost child wanders into the park. The lost child starts a journey to return, but because so many Animal Girls join in on the quest it becomes an unexpected grand adventure.

Episode 1

I thought that this was going to be a short given that a lesser known studio is doing this, but it turns out that this is a standard length show. Anyway, that was really cute as Serval is an excellent tour guide in the savanna. While it is clearly designed to be a lighthearted advertisement, it's not a bad way to kick back and get a huge dose of cuteness. The CG made it tough on the eyes, but nevertheless I enjoyed it even if it is not going to amount to much.

The backgrounds were pretty and the character designs were kind of cute. But as soon as they start moving around it breaks any sense of enjoyment I may have for it. It's like whoever was animating the cg characters forgot to add any sense of weight to them.

The game was cancelled. Why wasn't the anime cancelled? Because they'd already paid their huge seiyuu cast, rivaling all shows but Girlfriend (kari) and they had to try to get some of their money back?

Maybe kids like it? I didn't last long on this one.

Meh, completly misread this one. This is 5-8 year old girls show, and super basic at that. And the story.......

It's something, I guess. Definitely not what I pictured going into it, though.

The animation is hard to get used to and the characters look pretty stiff when moving. Seems like it would better fit the 2-10 minute episode range.

I think they could have made this more entertaining for kids (squeeze that budget) by making this a short. The first episode felt really long.

Yeah, those were my thoughts exactly. It would have worked as a short as there were certainly parts of this show that would make awesome material for five or so minutes a week. I was expecting it to be a short with the production staff, but being a standard length show caught me off guard. The fight with the Ceruleans certainly was unnecessary and it felt like the animators were trying to needlessly stretch out some of the scenes to fill up the airtime, which is absolutely a no-no.

I had already checked before watching this that it was full-length, which did surprise me as well, but I was adequately prepared going into it. Even so, I went into it expecting it to be fairly bad, and I must say I winced a bit at the early CG scenes (Serval racing through the grass etc.). Having said that, I have to say that I genuinely enjoyed this quite a bit. Of course it isn't particularly 'good', but for me it was cute, calm and happy. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did had I watched it different circumstances (watched it on my PS Vita at around 6:30 am with my duvet over my head before going to sleep (I have a broken sleep pattern)). Legitimately looking forward to watching this before bed for the next few weeks.

So what, we're making anime on the Nintendo GameCube engine in 2017? What the hell?

If this is for a game that was cancelled, I dunno why they even bothered with the release of the anime. Or why it's a full-length show. It's...kinda pointless.

No, it makes perfect sense. Same reason Blizzard repackaged and released their failed "Project Titan" as "Overwatch". To recover losses.

If the anime already is made, no reason not to release; money already spent, and contrary to some posts here, u dont need a video game release to release an anime.

People think its like a set deal. This isn't a presidential election, u know....
