That was an absolutely adorable episode. I was giggling during that second half with Prairie Dog keep digging herself in a hole and Beaver's model of a model.

Yuri in Kemono Friends... wasn't expecting that.

With that ED I keep wondering if this isn't some post-apocalyptic show where all humans died and what we see are a few experiments with animals to create races that could survive in the future. Almost seems a bit like Utawarerumono but without the masks.

Episode 6

Bag girl and Serval has stumbled into the middle of a battlefield where the Lion and Moose are at war, and the Moose's party hasn't even gotten close to winning. So after Serval and Bag girl go over to their party to train them up, they have another war, and this time Moose and Lion are finally able to battle after failing so many times before. The battle ends in a draw and everybody becomes best friends wanting to play again sometime. Pretty silly how all that went down, but nevertheless it was amusing and it's one of the better episodes out there where it didn't feel like the show was trying to fill up its runtime like with the previous ones.

Next time, Bag girl reaches her destination, and it will be interesting to see what she learns from her visit to the library seeing that she doesn't even know that she's a human for some reason.

It is pretty terrible that a bunch of rather simple girls outdo a show with a much larger budget.

Maybe Racoon and Rat will finally catch up.

Just thought I'd mention that the author of Tomo-chan wa Onna no ko!, Yanagida Fumita, posted a number of tweets about this show referring to the refreshing way in which the characters breasts are drawn lol.

He specifically mentioned how he likes that they all look like gravity is a thing and aren't sitting up under their chin giving the impression of not wearing bras.

Episode 7

As Shoebill correctly guessed, Bag girl is a human, but apparently she's the last of the race as humans have gone extinct, and I would have to think that those Cerulean monsters have something to do with that. So the two arrive at the library, but before they can get there they have to navigate their way through Quiz Forest, and then they are greeted by two owl girls who have given her the task of cooking something tasty for them. With Bag girl's spicy curry, she passed and got the truth about herself. With that reveal, that explains the significance of the abandoned amusement part at the end as humans are gone from this world. It will be interesting to see where things go from here now that Bag girl knows the truth.

And the opening animation has been changed with what figures to be the environments that Bag girl and Serval will be visiting in the second half of this.

one other thing of note this episode. According to the Owls the "friends" were specifically transformed to be humans. It's not accident or evolution it was a very specific choice by someone

Well, there was that incident when Lucky Beast was being used by someone unseen. Just because the humans are not seen by Friends anymore does not mean they are really extinct. The Friends do not actually have the greatest grasp of events.
The "star sand" or whatever is probably going to turn out to be human souls though. It is also sort of difficult to see how the "ceruleans" can constitute a threat great enough to "extinct" humanity, since they are sort of stupid, slow, and have enormous weak spots. Abandoning the park, certainly, but even that seems contrived.

From the look of things, it's going to be a second season and I wonder if there are any changes that were made to this season due to its unexpected popularity. With its simple plot structure, they could easily push back the intended final episode and have Bag and Serval explore more terrains at Japari Park before learning the full truth about everything that I had been thinking was originally intended to end this season in anticipation of a one-shot deal. Anyway, seeing that this is a full-length show that it would be too much to ask for it to continue on into the spring season.

Episode 8

Having scored some VIP tickets to the PPP concert, that's where Kaban and Serval heads to, and there they meet a huge PPP fan in Margay in the tree. Princess is suffering from stage fright that threatens to derail the concert, and those cats go there to help her out and seeing that the other idols value her leadership that everything turns out well. The performance is pretty good there and Margay is the manager. So the search for Kaban's human origins continues as she heads out to the harbor where humanity once lived in, and next they are headed to the mountains.

This week we learn that the animators really like penguin butts.
