This news just broke a short while ago on CNN. It seems Trump was recently briefed that Russia appears to have compromising information about him. Not only that, but intelligence officials also believe that Trump and his team may have been coordinating with Russia in the months leading up to the election.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/donald-trump-intelligence-report-russia/index.html

This is pretty shocking, since it seems to suggest that Trump may have been blackmailed by Russia, and not only has secret issues potentially worth compromising the Presidency over, but ultimately may have turned into something of a traitor.

Not sure where this will ultimately head, but it's pretty messed up if true. Part of me hopes it's not the case, because it would be a major infiltration of the US government by a foreign power. The fallout from that would be terrible. But part of me also thinks that, if it's true, the country definitely needs to reevaluate the Trump presidency. I would have never imagined we could ever see the US turn into a puppet government, and if that's what happened, it's got to be stopped.

Oh look CNN creating more news out of nothing to try to stay relevant, how cute.

'Member when Russia closed American diplomat schools because Obama kicked Russian diplomats out? Oh wait that never happened it was all in CNN's head.

This isn't creating news out of nothing.

The allegations about Russia possessing compromising information, as well as being in continuous contact with Russia throughout the election, were presented by four of the senior-most US intelligence chiefs in a two-page synopsis to both President Obama and Donald Trump.

If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black. Infowars is not a creditable source for anything but maybe racism and various other isms. It's run by a guy who called Sandyhook a hoax and started pizzagate.

A fake news list that doesn't list CNN. Obviously a fake list.

I'm gonna wait for more sources to open up on the subject before I believe this fully but if this is true then there is more going on then the public knows about. This would also make sense of Obama pushing all the Russian diplomats out of the country. Given the revelation that there may be some sort hostile attempt at control by Putin having people who answer to him gone would make sense.

Posts INFOWARS source.

I'll take either one over Alex Jones.

Pretty disturbing if any of those allegations turn out to be true.

led Jones over dramatizes everything. CNN will make stories from events that never happened.

Fake news is news that is fake. CNN creates fake news stories. Therefore CNN is fake news.

Thanks for the link! I like how the wiki author describes and makes distinctions between tabloid news and more credible sources... Also:

The New York Times noted in a December 2016 article that fake news had previously maintained a presence on the Internet and within tabloid journalism in the years prior to the 2016 U.S. election.[7] Prior to the election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, fake news had not impacted the election process and subsequent events to such a high degree.[7] Subsequent to the 2016 election, the issue of fake news turned into a political weapon, with supporters of left-wing politics saying those on the opposite side of the spectrum spread falsehoods, and supporters of right-wing politics arguing such accusations were merely a way to censor conservative views.[7] Due to these back-and-forth complaints, the definition of fake news as used for such polemics became more vague.[7]

If that ain't the truth I don't know what is!

If Russia had compromising information on anyone, it would have been Hillary everything on her server.

Considering recent reports that fake news websites have been adversely affecting public opinion in recent months, it's interesting to see its effects in these forums, with an actual site like Infowars having been brought up.

Speaking from personal experience, in the weeks leading up to the election I ran into a handful of Russian, pro-Trump astroturfers on a variety of platforms (YouTube, Twitter, etc.), and I thought it was pretty weird at the time. All of this recent news about the Russia-Trump ties, though, puts a lot of that into perspective, and makes me a bit ways more suspicious when talking to people online, since now I have to wonder if some of the politically vocal internetizens I'm talking with might actually be paid shills.

That all said and done though, I'd much prefer to discuss the actual news story I originally posted, than to be derailed about accusations as to the credibility of CNN.

There's no actual evidence in the report. And it's mainly just backed by the CIA (white house lapdog).
Actually has less credibility than the Iraq WMD reports.

Whenever anyone wants to check credible news sources one to check is the columnist HA Goodman.

And those Fake News Site lists.......not reliable. They're actually made by 'reliable anonymous sources'. Was one of the MSM bits they pulled when the article corruption was being pointed at en masse.

political discussion in a nutshell:

CNN: "We're screwed because of Russia. Thanks, Trump"
a: that news is fake
b: no, your news is fake
a: no, your news is fake
