Because I am not going to miss work over something as small as the flu.

Also I haven't had a cold or a fever in 11 years... So there is that.

Beacuse money somehow nullifies the effect of the cold.

If you're going to be sick you may as well get paid for it.

I know how you feel. Those sick people sneezing! All over the place without covering their mouths and touching office equipment!! Lucky I have my trusty Lysol and spray the heck out of them! No more germs! Invest in Lysol and you are free.

If I am going to be miserable then I might as well be miserable at work.

I'm broke and I don't get paid time off yet. But if it's any consolation, I bring on-the-go clorox wipes with me and wipe down my station?

But I completely understand where you're coming from. I've seen people come to work with the flu and they can barely function like... You're useless AND you're contagious. Go home, my dude.

Because people don't always have the sick time to get off and need to work to get paid money to pay for their bills and groceries and stuff. Also, if you think that working in an office or work setting where you see the same people all the time and one person is sick, imagine working with the general public and dealing with possibly multiple people who are sick, and I'm not talking about just your co-workers. Yeah, it's not fun.

You realize that Lysol and Bleach wipes don't kill everything, right? It says it kills up to 99.9% of germs. What do you think the other .1% of the germs do? Hang out and wait until you come back again?

If anything, you're probably making the germs stronger. Those that weren't wiped out either were lucky or have some sort of immunity, which they will pass on.

I doubt many of you have read the instructions regarding how to use Lysol. In some cases, you need to leave a thin film on the surface and let it sit there for 15 minutes before touching. Also doesn't work on polished woods, leather, fabrics and painted surfaces...which is pretty much everything in an office.

I wouldn't go to work with a cold, since I work at a hospital and have to deal with sick patients.. I actually tried once and I got sent home.

I work from home, so I don't have much reason not to work when I'm sick.
But if I feel that I'm so ill that it will prevent me from doing my job efficiently... well, that's when I'm going to stay in bed and say to hell with the whole working thing.
