Didn't think they would make a recap of the first anime; I thought about watching it again before Chaos;Child, then I remembered what train wreck it was and didn't bother.
This looks like it's going to be a good mistery, and Onoe is fishy as fk.

I kind of liked Chaos:Head. You just had to be willing to remember what happened and then wait until about halfway through for the story to tie all the threads together. I'm not sure where they are going to go with this one, but everyone might have to wait until later to see how all the events are tying together. It might seem kind of "chaotic" until then

Glad they recapped Chaos;Head. Can't believe I forgot so much of it. I forgot how much I loved it. I don't care what people say, I loved it. Chaos;Child will be great for me.

I really enjoyed this episode. Glad they did the recap and the suspense is on point! I can't wait for more.

However, there are some translation errors.

その目だれの目?

It's supposed to be "Whose eyes are those eyes?" rather than 'Whose eyes! Those eyes!' from the show.

Not really feeling the characters, but the mysteries have gotten me intrigued enough to continue. Didn't watch Chaos:Head before, so that recap was helpful.

As another person who didn't watch Head, I quite liked the recap at the beginning. I also quite enjoyed the actual first episode too. Pretty good stuff so far and I'll definitely be back next week.

As others have said the recap was nice to have. The only problem I had with it though is that the character's faces just looked off to me. Aoi Sena being the one that really made me notice just how off I thought their faces were, of course then I started noticing it more on the other characters. Though the problem didn't seem to exist on the characters from ChäoS;Child so I wonder if they had interns or something handle the recap, if they just rushed it out, or maybe I just got used to it by the time we got to the actual episode and thus it didn't bother me anymore.

I'm interested in the premise, but the harem tag makes me a bit skeptical. Does anyone know if this series is ecchi or not?

The ";" franchise is a science fiction franchise called "Science Adventure", that is based upon visual novel video games.

Made by MAGES, they are of the smartest anime u will see. Lot of people never got the first one, Chaos;Head, because it dealt with a scientific theory (Dirac Sea) that "nobody heard of before".

The idea is, in very super short, liberal interpretation of the theory; illusions (defined as holes in space-time, that appear to have positive existence) can be made seemingly real. The MC of ;Head was indeed, a delusion/copy of his older self. But these illusions are not real. Nevertheless, that wouldn't matter. This requires a /walloftext

Anyways, I wrote a whole explanatory piece on this awhile ago. Basically, gives people who figure it out God-Tier powers, or something. Also, leaves you wondering what is actually true/real in life, and not just fantasy. This sequel, seems to reintroduce the concept. This franchise is generally only on FUNimation, so u have to go there to check out the rest. In either case, hopefully u will learn something by the end; if not, ye can explain (as done before) as well....

In other news, I was waiting for the FUNIDub before watching this, as I have always found the English version of this franchise to be far superior then the Japanese version. Especially Chaos;Head . But no matter.....

Never liked Chaos;Head myself but I feel like the recapping was necessary. It's been ages since I've seen it and most people who can't remember events before will get a nice little refreshment. That being said, I think the first episode was fine so far. It sets up for rest of the season and retains the thrillerish feeling I was expecting.

Still not impressed by the MC's personality though.

Honestly, he can't be any worse than Head's protag. That's just not possible.

(Don't get me wrong, I actually liked the show despite its flaws, and the VN is great, but I wanted to punch ol' Takkun in the face, most of the time.)

I'm surprised I made it through the recap episode. By the time the first proper episode of ;Child started I was too squicked out by the murder descriptions to continue.

Having played the VN I'm honestly kind of disappointed with the anime thus far. The anime has really downplayed the psychological aspect of it and glossed over the first chapter which eliminated any real introduction to the characters. I get that it's hard to compress a 60-70h VN into a 13(?) ep anime, but the pacing makes it hard for me to get into the anime. Even knowing what happens, the hotel scene should have creeped me out if done right. However, they rushed it to the point where critical elements were left out. It really makes it seem like this series is more of a service to existing fans rather than trying to appeal to the average viewer.

I'm curious to see where they'll go with this, but I already feel like it's not going to do the VN any justice.

Ok so I decided to watch Chaos;Head before this and honestly liked it up until about episode 9 or 10. After that I felt like the show just kind of made no sense and fell apart. ( My opinion I know lol) But after watching the first episode of Chaos;Child, I am a little confused about the recap. Like a few things were out of place for me.

-They never mentioned or showed 3 of the main characters from Head (Kozue, Ayase, Yua)
-Everything that took place during the day now is being shown at night
-No Di-swords
-Dont recall the last 2 murders
-He got accused of been the NewGen murder instead of that nurse (Grim) then beat up before awakening? When did that happen?
-When the hell did Takumi's sister get her hand mailed to him? (Her hand looked invisible at one time I remember that but then it was back the next time you saw her)
-Takumi remembers Rimi at his place instead of school?
-He just randomly goes on the train to talk to Sena instead of following the chain she had?

So those were the only things I saw that stood out. But I just watched the series so that's why I remember them so clearly as well.

On to the actually episode.

I found it interesting but I guess there is nothing that ties Head to Child besides the NewGen murders? Do I need to play the games to understand who these characters are or what happened after Head?

All in all the actually series looks like it could be quite interesting. I like the protagonist more so far, and I always like a good mystery thriller. I just feel like I need to separate the two series in order to enjoy it fully I guess.
