Episode 7

Morina's first attempt at cooking Italian ends up looking bad, but actually tastes good as Sara totally approves of her caprese salad. It turns out that Sara and Maro go to the same elementary school, so it's no wonder how they know each other so well. Now that Morina has taken up Italian cooking, she's going to be taught by Ei, and Maro isn't exactly thrilled about that.

Episode 8

With unexpected company, Morina has to whip up something quick, and she comes through with the Zuppa Inglesa, and her dessert gets rave reviews from Sara's grandfather. So much that he wants to take her away to work at Sairei. And Morina's friemd from school, Rii, also drops by to enjoy this treat. Pretty amusing how all that went down.

If only something like that machine shown in one episode's ED would exist, that would be great. All you had to do is to throw anything in that in turns into something... oishii!

Episode 9

Morina is now working temporarily at Sairei as she just couldn't say no to Sara's request, and everybody at Festa is worried about it. Sairei sure is huge considering that it is run by a rich family. In the end, working there gave Morina some ideas for her next dishes, but her skills need a lot of work seeing that the fritter dish wasn't cooked properly with the batter falling off. But in the end, she's back at Festa to improve her cooking, so all is well.

Episode 10

It's onto the summer festival, and Trattoria Festa has a stand where they are serving up all sorts of treats. And then Sara insults Ei and throws down the gauntlet. While Sara cooks something nice, Ei's Panna Cotta is on an entirely different level. Sara has to know that it's never good to insult a chef without proper justification.

Episode 11

The restaurant is closed for a picnic, and Kirihide is in charge of the cooking. That is, until Morina unexpectedly brings the high-end filet that was heavily discounted at the supermarket instead of the T-bone that he was anticipating. Just leave it to Maro to whip up a great dish there, and everybody is happy. That beef tagliata dish sure looks tasty.

Episode 12 (Finale)

To end this show, Ei's background is explained, and he shows Maro that it's not good to rush things, especially when it comes to being a pro chef. He has been skipping school and dedicating his time as a chef, and Ei shows him that he he's not in any position to cook anymore after spending all that effort making an eggplant dish that rivals Maro's father's. And so, it ends with Ei's story about how he whipped Maro into shape.

Final Thoughts

Seeing that this is a short that it was what I have come to expect out of it. The show has its cute moments, all while the dishes are really something and the comedy is solid. That said, this show suffers from what most shorts tend to do in that it lacks a story and the animation quality is subpar, all while the formula is pretty repetitive with a different dish being made every episode. In the end, it's a small commitment that does just enough to make it fulfilling.

Grade: C- (low 6/10)

huh, quite the change of tone in the last episode. Overall it wasn't a bad series, although it could of been a lot better even if it was a short. I still had fun which is okay, but eh.

That was a very weird episode to end on. I thought that couldn't the finale and this series will continue on a second cour, but nope this is the actual last episode.

Anyways, I liked this series. The characters were enjoyable for the most part. If there's ever a second season, I do wish that it'll be a bit longer.
