Here's an idea, it's going to be a stretch for some of us but here is the gist; In your subsequent post you need to name one thing you like about the current president and the president to be and one thing you hate about both of them. Let's get a real discussion going. If you can't think of something you like or hate about either of the candidates I implore you to sit this one out and watch from afar.

I'll start:

Things I like:

Obama: I liked how he was constantly pushing for scientific endeavors. I'd say he was very intelligent.

Trump: I like the fact that he is willing to listen to arguments from all sides of the spectrum as hinted at by his meetings with Obama. It shows some maturity.

Things I hate:

Obama: I hate that his confidence in his policies and his direction seems to cloud his better judgement sometimes. I'd characterize his pride as his weakness. Obama could of got more done if he dropped his pride in what he did and tried to engage republicans more.

Trump: I hate how there doesn't seem to be a method to his madness. My concern is that people who are completely idealless (For anything that isn't self serving) tend to be easily swayed to bad ideas of thought. I don't think Trump has it in him to do something truly horrible but I also hope he doesn't get used.

Now that's an interesting theory.

Obama:
I like how Obama kept his cool during his presidency, despite all the crazy things that were happening we never saw him flip out

I don't like how he was almost too cool. He was always like "everything's gonna be okay" when things weren't really okay. I think he was a little prone to manipulation, but a little appeasement is sometimes necessary to protect your people.

Trump:
I like how Donald Trump's whole campaign was just pandering to the dumbest and most insecure individuals in America....considering they hold the largest percentage of the population this was a very smart move (if you look at the media they do exactly the same thing.) No one had any idea if the stuff he was saying was true, or if he was just saying it to get people riled up. He is a businessman after all, its what they do.

I don't like how he's become a vessel for White Nationalism. They worship this guy as if he's the new Hitler or something. A lot of these people work on the inside, meaning they are major figures in government business (the "illuminati" if you will lol ) With Trump in the house they can pretty much go back to doing whatever they like. Idk.....I feel some very eerie sxxt a'brewin

This isn't going to work if you lie your ass off in the first post. >.>

The president elect always meets with the president to ensure a smooth transition. You're giving him credit for virtually the least he could do to fulfill his obligations as the president elect. That's some participation award level shit.

To be fair, he did show some acknowledgment from those meetings. I think he realized the President was a lot smarter and more competent then he originally realized. A bit of humbling is never a bad thing.

I think it was more the moment it started to sink in what he had gotten himself into. >.>

He didn't want to BE president. Just WIN the presidency and prove he's the Bestest(tm). Hence the popular vote being such a sore point for him.

Things I like

Obama- he's the kind a guy you can go to a barbecue with and have a good time. I like that

Trump- he has a back bone, because of lots of money. That's a good thing to have when you are president. I like that

Things I hate

Obama. Well nothing personal, not as a human being, just towards his lack of solutions by being a stand up comedian.

Trump- what's not to like about the guy. Ok he might make us pay more for certain things, but that's inevitable.

Things I like

  • Obama - Strived for social progress and tried to aim to make American feel "united" for the first time in a while.
  • Trump - He's finally started to chill, a little, especially during the last press conference that he had today.

Things I Dislike

  • Obama - Ironically, the same reason I liked him. Social progress is amazing but I feel that Obama focused more on social progress in lieu of several of his promised policies during both election terms.
  • Trump - His temperament. He acts like a thirteen-year-old majority of the times that gets offended at the slightest thing possible. For someone with as much "power" as he has and his age, he should be acting more mature - not like a spoiled brat.

There are other things I dislike about Trump, more so his regressive stances in terms of policies that may throw social progress out of the window. There's a balance that not even Obama had that needs to be found between "too much" and "too little" social progress; nor should social progress be the "main stage" of politics when the company is struggling on many other fronts. Trump just seems like he's going to go to the opposite spectrum of Obama, miss the mark on most of his promised policies during the election run, and focusing too much on one aspect of the country's overall system.

Things I like:

Obama: I liked how he seemed more down to Earth compared to the plethora of cookie cutter boring politicians. Having someone with an upbeat personality that had a story of coming from the common people rather than another member of a political dynasty was a nice change of pace.

Trump: As an Independent, I like the fact that he is willing to go after both political parties and questions the failing status quo all the time. I also like how his philosophy is built around compromise and getting the job done efficiently and I hope that aspect makes him a good President

Things I hate:

Obama: I hate that despite his his upbeat message for the country that he honestly wasn't all that effective as a President. Healthcare is still a mess, education is a mess, and our foreign policy is still a mess. I don't blame him for all of it, since it is just a continuation of the status quo, but I was hoping he would be the one who would have brought us the real change many of us have been and are still waiting for.

Trump: I hate how he can't cool down off his Twitter rants. Heck i agree with the guy most of time, but I wish he could act more professional since it gives his opposition ammunition on something other than policy and helps the MSM and other people stop talking about the real issues facing this country today and instead waste time talking about something unimportant he said.

Like

Obama - Did a great job for someone in 8 years of gridlock and hypocritical condemnations by the republican congress. Defended LGBT+ rights, was the first major federal politician to even say the word 'transgender', has stuck through 8 years of bs with grace and humor.

Trump - He really brought out the ugly in people and brought it into the limelight for all to see, instead of festering underneath implicit legislation like the republican party. Made it easy for me to know who I could trust and who I couldn't.

Dislike

Obama - Like most of the Democrats have let the right wing become more extreme by appeasing to them in the hopes of compromising with the uncompromising. I would have liked to see him be a bit more assertive but I understand why he handled things the way he did.

Trump - Everything really. He's a cesspool of every negative quality a human being can possess, revolting to the core.
