My dream list:
Galaxy Express 999: old enough that it would be a real surprise. A great story with beautiful but dated animation.
Legend of Galactic Heroes: ditto
Lupin III: Season 4 was fantastic, keep it up
Utena: I prefer the anime plot to the manga plot but a manga-true adaptation would be a nice follow-up to the Sailor Moon reboot.

Nothing less than 10 years old is worth rebooting. FMA was a narrow exception and debatable. Better to see mussed manga adaptations that could have been great.

Yumekui Merry, really great manga, but the anime was pretty butchered.

I'll agree with Akame Ga Kill, never read the manga, but the 2nd half of that anime was a rushed mess and it had so much potential, probably the biggest anime letdown for me lately.

I'll also agree with Tokyo Ghoul, I liked the general idea of the story, but the pacing in the anime was all over the place.

I'm goin' with Berserk.

A reboot of the series with a good adaptation from start to recent, without chopping/skipping arcs, condensing scenes to fit into a small number of episodes and twisting its events around. And of course, there's also the animation.

Air Gear needs to be rebooted or started up again. It was such a good series with both action & character development, & then it just ended. No resolution, no nothing. Total letdown.

Either you misunderstand what a reboot is, or you have the mistaken belief that NOT was a reboot of Soul Eater.

Out of the ones that were mentioned, Tokyo Ghoul is the most in need of a reboot. Root A is just an absolute monstrosity and does a total injustice to the series as a whole. That said, Rave Master should have been mentioned and with Fairy Tail being such a big hit that it should most definitely get one. The anime was just so half-baked and the guys in charge of localizing that show decided to turn it into a Saturday morning kid's show littering it with jokes that just don't fit in with the show. It's an amazing manga and an anime that remains faithful to it would certainly do wonders for this series.

Then I disagree on that series needing one at all.

I got the Hunter x Hunter and FMA reboots so I'm good. Would like a Claymore reboot though.

Sailor Moon Crystal made me realize that 'closer to the manga' does not have to mean 'better'. But working under the assumption that the reboot would actually be good, I would love to see a modern version of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne that included the more intricate manga plot and emulated Arina's drawings better than the garishly colored 1999 designs.

And, yeah, now that Blue Exorcist has received a reboot-but-kinda-not-since-season-one-is-still-canon-but-also-not-a-sequel-because-the-anime-original-material-is-skipped (requel? seqboot?), I really want Soul Eater to get one, too. Less likely, of course, since that manga is long over, but Soul Eater's anime is only two years older than Blue Exorcist's, and afaik was a bigger hit. I love the original anime and don't particularly want a full FMA Brotherhood style reboot, but doing what Blue Exorcist is doing would be amazing.

Speaking of, was Blue Exorcist the last major manga adaptation to have an anime-original ending? These days, the production model seems to have shifted almost entirely to shorter seasons, then waiting for the manga to catch up, even for potential big hits (see also: My Hero Academia), and I can't think of any manga adaptations newer than 2011 that have original endings (aside from Tokyo Ghoul root A, which was a much more complicated kind of mess). Are there any?

Serial Experiments Lain - the technological side of things could be updated loads, and graphically it could look a heck of a lot better if it had a budget.

Everybody is saying Soul Eater but the art, the music, the acting, the pacing, and even the dub was amazing. I would only want a reboot if we get to keep all those things.
