Looks like none of my predictions happened shit! Next time I'm going to put another Xenoblade game as part of my prediction every console generation cuz I love Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm more hyped for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 then Legend of Zelda Breathe of the Wild! However, I will be getting that Zelda anyway cuz' I will need something to play during the wait.

I'm pretty much as underwhelmed as I thought I would be so I guess it's not fair to say I'm disappointed.

Octopath might be cool I guess. Other than that it's just looking like another Nintendo console to me except with the addition of the pay for play online service and another new gimmick that I doubt anyone will actually use.

I do find the one free NES or SNES game a month thing with the paid online service to be one of the funniest things I've heard for a long time though. Gotta hand it to Nintendo for making me laugh like that.

I was really dissapointed with that let's say this new service costs $60 a year for online and a free NES game with as cheap as they r am I gonna pay for THAAAT? NO! I get they want to be different but they need to make it worth it.

One free Switch game and one free VC game of any system of choice is more worth it me. However Nintendo is going to force me to put my cash in their mouths just so I can play online,. so I'll slap them with my money just so I can play online because I'll need it for Mario Kart and Smash.

In case if anyone is confused by the way I put it I'm still going to pay for online whether I like the service or not, it better be cheaper then PS+ though.

I'm looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and ARMS. Having DBZ on it is a nice bonus. Might very well be the machine all the anime games are on. And it's region free? Perfection.

I guess Nintendo doesn't want to sell it at loss so $300 was the best choice.

Have they confirmed at all whether it was going to be your choice of NES/SNES game or one that they themselves choose? I haven't been following the post reveal info too closely.

That would be a real slap in the face. If you not only received a single NES/SNES game per month but if was specifically one they chose as well.

Never said they did confirm it. I said they should have.

Sorry, you may have misunderstood. I didn't mean to imply you had said that at all, I was just asking if you knew since you seem to be more up on the information than I am. :)

If they did confirm it it would've been in the presentation. I didn't see anywhere a free Switch game I'm simply saying that it would be worth it if they had that as part of the service, their online services still isn't clear. But if paying for online means a better service in the future then I will pay for it. If something is confirmed I'd make sure to say it's confirmed.

Well it not like they can give us current games.....as you know. Porting takes time and such.

Eh, there's a world of difference between NES/SNES and "current games." You can't say they couldn't include at least N64 or even Gamecube games. Heck, even Wii emulation is likely very possible (though possibly a bit more work) given how the Joycons appear to function in regards to motion control. Though, really, I don't see what's so impossible about "current games" either. Both Microsoft and Sony have no issues giving out "current games" free through their paid online services.

Also, is it really porting or is it just going to be essentially running the original game as a ROM on emulation software? If the games are already playable on the current hardware and if the game is not changed at all from it's original release, which is already the case with stuff on the current Nintendo eshop, then there really is no time consuming porting process at all.

i don't know about their proprietary game engine, but with Unity, you just need to do some very minor modifications and choose the platform to "compile". it's fairly straightforward, assuming you have the required licenses of course.
