Yes, because electing people so throughly in bed with the government has worked so well for us. Remind me again what the US debt is.

While stabilizing the debt is obviously very important, the government having debt isn't exactly the end of the world. Its far more complicated than "look at this big scary number" and it is far less conclusive than "Debt is bad. Period.".

That said, if you are concerned about US national debt, Trump should be a tremendously scary president. Looking at Trump's proposals (of course things change when they go through congress and whatnot, but that isn't the point here), our debt is projected to climb more quickly than if we changed nothing at all. According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, in 10 years, we will be over the 100% debt-to-GDP mark which is often cited as the "danger zone" under Trump (105% vs roughly 86% if we changed nothing).

Striking back against the establishment is fine and all, but "different" doesn't always mean "better".

the only people who like Obamacare are the poor, the lazy, and the illegals aliens, who all get subsidies from tax payers.

Is that why we have so many people traveling from Europe and Canada to the USA for medical treatment?

you go from insulting it to defending it?

i dont refer to your ACTUAL hospitals and staff but the ACA and the state of private health in the US.

pre-existing conditions not covered, some peoples premiums up at like $1000 per month etc.

its ridiculous.

I thought you were talking about the quality of healthcare not insurance. Even democrats admit Obama care was a failure. Who wants to pay $500 a month for a 10,000 deductible

Here is a very good report giving an overview of health outcomes by country. I think its worth reading or at least skimming through.

Some quotes:

"The United States health care system is the most expensive in the world, but this report and prior editions consistently show the U.S. underperforms relative to other countries on most dimensions of performance."

"Most troubling, the U.S. fails to achieve better health outcomes than the other countries, and as shown in the earlier editions, the U.S. is last or near last on dimensions of access, efficiency, and equity."

"The U.S. ranks last overall with poor scores on all three indicators of healthy lives—mortality amenable to medical care, infant mortality, and healthy life expectancy at age 60. "

"There is a frequent misperception that trade-offs between universal coverage and timely access to specialized services are inevitable; however, the Netherlands, U.K., and Germany provide universal coverage with low out-of-pocket costs while maintaining quick access to specialty services. "

I often hear people saying that the US pays more for health care because we have the best health care in the world. We don't.

The fact that we went from mildly bad discussion to lambasting poor people for actually needing healthcare is stupid.

I don't agree with the logistics of the ACA, but some sort of government medicine for the needy is not something I see as inherently evil.
