http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000773179/article/chargers-announce-decision-to-relocate-to-los-angeles

On Thursday, Chargers owner Dean Spanos announced that the Chargers will be moving from San Diego to Los Angeles. The team will play at StubHub Center for the next two seasons, before moving into a new stadium in Inglewood that will be completed by 2019, which they will share with the Rams.

The team will play future seasons as the Los Angeles Chargers.

Tough moment for San Diego. I guess this cements San Diego as the new "saddest sports city".

Damn, the dad character from Paranormal Activity 2 will be really disappointed. Don't really know anyone else who had a vested interest in that team, though.

Why? We don't need them... Let them go somewhere else.

Also, if they do go to Inglewood, then let them call themselves the Inglewood Chargers....

Or they can do what the Angles did and call themselves the Los Angeles Chargers of Inglewood.... (Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim is the Angles' official name).

They already have the Rams and the city just lost two teams two decades ago. That was a tough moment for San Diego, but the city has more important things to spend their money on than building a stadium for them when the league can pay for it themselves.

This is the only business that I can think of that actually gets away with making taxpayers build their brick and mortar business. Ford, Fiat-Chrysler, etc, have to spend their own money to build their factories, even if they do get some tax breaks to entice them, but sports teams can somehow get the government to spend the money for their stadiums without expecting a single dime from the sports franchise for the costs of building.

Is that twisted, or what?

It's unfortunate lol but LA is dominated by Raiders fan, and it has been even before they (Raiders) were actually good for once this year. Not to say, the Chargers haven't been awful the past 4 years themselves. So it's not like LA wants them at all. They probably couldn't care less. Idk, I went to a lot of games in the past, and people don't really care about sports THAT much. Other AFC West teams fill up half, if not more than half of the stadium when they come. They're more concerned with all of the things to do in SD i.e. Surfing, Hiking, Amusement Parks, SD is one of hubs of international eating in the world. 300 days of 78 degree and sunny weather. It's been a brief passing storm recently but on Christmas I went to the beach.

I was sad to see that.

Apparently the Raiders will also be moving. Not to LA, but Las Vegas.

Just watched the news tonight. Movers are boycotting them.

It was the best laugh I have had in a long time. Since I work for one of the largest self-moving companies. I think it would be even funnier for them not to rent equipment to them.

All those people burning shirts, flags etc... They should just send them to me. lol

Couldn't give less of a shit about them.

However, it is a time for rejoicing! Unlike almost every other team in the NFL, it looks like the Rams and Chargers will not be fleecing taxpayers out of millions of dollars for a place to play their games! It's ridiculous that this is an issue, but it bears some celebratory feelings.

People of Los Angeles! Be merry! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Meanwhile, St Louis is still paying off their stadium, in addition to massive yearly maintenance costs. But I'm sure the people there are oh so happy to be footing the bill. Because wasn't it great that millionaires tossed a ball around for a while? Which is to say, about 8 days per year. Possibly a few more if they make the playoffs.

As someone mentioned LA is full of Raiders fans, but it's also the biggest bandwagon sports city there is. So two teams gives them a better chance of one of them having a winning record, then everyone in LA can claim they've been Chargers/Rams fans since before they were even born.

Fuck em, donated all my chargers gear and removed my decals from my cars. Been a chargers fan since I was little and always went to ay least two home games a season. I feel really bad for my friends dad who's had season tickets since the chargers came to SD. Whatever NFL has been kinda boring to watch the last two seasons maybe I'll just stop watching all together.
