I sort of learned the "hard way" (in quotes because it didn't really matter, but anyway) that once I bought game keys, I really should activate them...

I bought a bunch of keys from a site in 2012, and sort of kind of didn't activate most of them until the company went bankrupt.

Yep, that's what happened to Indie Royale apparently...

Another company bought it, and customer support told me that they might be able to recover account info (from wayyyyy back in 2012). Or not. I'm not holding my breath, partially because if I haven't even arsed to stick those keys in Steam then they're probably naff games anyway.

...This is not to mention how I bought an entire bundle of 6 or 7 H games for no reason (...This is from Indie Gala this time, and OBVIOUSLY for no reason, since I claimed none of them) only to find out years later that those codes actually had an expiration date on the actual site I'm supposed to redeem them from. Horray.

Maybe I should just stop hoarding games.

Nah. It's easier to just keep buying.

(I should remember to claim those 25 keys I just bought a few weeks back.)

It would be wise to activate keys for games you plan on keeping to yourself, unless you plan on giving them out sometime or have duplicates.

dont worry about that H bundle, if its the mangagamer one that im thinking of then its a bunch of rubbish, even the sakura games made more sense. expiration of steam keys is down to the devs, ive been able to redeem 4 year old keys for example but in another case a 6 month old one will not work

I always redeemed keys right away back when I was collecting, I stopped collecting and therefore stopped purchasing bundles as well. I still have my humble monthly subscription though, but haven't redeemed any of the games in a few months. Every time I got a duplicate key off a bundle I always redeemed those on my alt Steam account as well.
