I think its because in the society that we have people need something to call weird and freak and loners and introverts are one of the few things that are still socially acceptable to laugh at. That being said, I am a loner and an introvert myself in real life but not by choice, I'm just extremely antisocial lol Also I live in Ireland, everyone here is a bit weird, though some in a good way!

ok I will word this carefully I keep my eye on loners I call it a set of eye's in the back of my head
traits i watch out for >> person sitting alone talking to themselve's and nobody is there? > another maybe has a fit of rage
for some reason, there are many shall i say scary traits. Now i am not saying all loners are evil but i still keep a close eye on them.

Here are 3 names on loners maybe they come to mind?

Dylan Roof
Dylan Klebold
Eric Harris

the above 3 killed many people so to ans. your question I keep a close eye on loners.
I am no longer in school so most loners i would encounter in everyday living.

It may have something to do with people not wanting to associate themselves with freaks, making the freaks having to become involuntary loners. If the same people came across a person that is a loner by choice, this might set off their warning bells and give them the idea that the person is making up excuses for being a freak.

You just can't win against some people.

This, especially in an extroverted society like the USA. People see something that differs from the norm and what their used to, so it makes them uneasy.

Keep in mind, people with psychopathic personalities tend to be great at making friends and manipulating people to get what they want. You might want to keep your eyes on those extroverts too.

Don't worry being a loner/pseudo introvert is becoming more trendy and cool so you won't be so alone in being alone soon enough.

People think we're weird, or freaks, because they're mentally insufficient, imo..........I'm not saying I'm an intellectual giant or anything...but still, man.....yeesh

I could care less to be honest. More fun for me to have

I'm not really a loner, because I don't mind going out and having fun with people, but lately it's just been the same old bullshit.

I can stay in and actually do something that I can really look at. Step back and actually appreciate something. Its a new concept i guess.

I dunno its the Cwaiziest thing

Usually it's not the act of being a loner or keeping to oneself that people think is weird, it's the lack of social skills that's often attached with it. Constantly try to avoid eye contact when someone is talking to you or otherwise acting awkward? That's going to strike most people as odd.

Don't listen to people who say things like that about us loners. They're just jealous.

I think it's normal to want to be a part of a group and just be around people. I like sharing my life with company.

If you choose to be alone more power to ya, but I get the feeling most people don't choose to be a loner or introvert.

SERIOUSLY. I get work done more efficiently when I'm alone. Other people hovering about makes me feel tense and anxious. I've been around people my whole life to know this is just who I am.

Sure, I can interact with people like a normal person, and I do enjoy company sometimes. But not every waking moment. And then there's the fact that sometimes I can't interact with people because it sends my anxiety to the roof. And if and when I do, I'm suddenly socially inept.

Buuut humans are social creatures. We're the pariahs, I guess.

I think it's the fact that, as creatures living on this planet, we are one of the most social animals. Humans don't learn on their own nor do we have anything that we are born with to defend ourselves in the natural world, we naturally group up to protect and defend ourselves. So, I think social people are picking up vibes that on an instinct level they interpret, "Why does person not want to survive?" When in reality in this day and age we can survive on our own. Also for some people, being alone has negative effects on their mental well being.

Trust me, you don't want to be a loner forever, shit will eat you up. You may think you're okay with it but deep down inside you're crying. Take it from me who never go out as much as I should, always staying home doing absolutely nothing, when I could've met some of the greatest people in world. Shit is not fun and all you have is regrets. Balance is key. Don't be too much of a introvert.
