I think it's normal to want to be a part of a group and just be around people. I like sharing my life with company.

If you choose to be alone more power to ya, but I get the feeling most people don't choose to be a loner or introvert.

People don't choose to be extroverts, either. People just are how they are. You think it is normal to be an extrovert because that's what you are. For me, introversion is normal because I have been an introvert all my life. A huge percentage of adults in America watch football, and many people take it for granted that you are going to spend at least a part of your Sunday watching football. I don't care how many people like football: I loathe it and always have.

Being introverted doesn't mean you can't socialize with others, don't have friends, or hate people in general. It also doesn't mean you are socially awkward.

Statistically introverts are about 1/4 of the population. That makes them the minority. They're different and not very common, and most IMPORTANTLY, it's hard for someone who's extroverted, to understand the mindset of someone who's introverted, and the other way around. If society was 1/4 extroverts, they would be the weird ones. It makes sense and it's not really something that people should be too unfamiliar with.

I'm sure the reason for being a loner is different for everyone. I didn't mean to make it sound like being an introvert automatically makes you anti-social. But the two come hand-in-hand more often than not.

I don't really get the football analogy. You lost me there.

But hey, if you're happy that's all that matters. Don't let Joe Sixpack tell you otherwise.

You know what, I think I do this subconsciously.

Its not normal being or liking to be asocial though. Luckily Facebook found a solution to that and now its pretty much normal. Its actually abnormal to be social in these days which is generally a normal thing to not be lonely as a habit.
